Small budgets, are you looking for a large format laptop PC to work in comfort? The Acer Aspire 3 A317-32-P1W7 has a few advantages for it. First, its hybrid storage with dedicated SSD and hard drive of substantial capacity, and then its recent Pentium Quad Core N5030 processor fully capable of dealing with current work, backed up by 4 GB of RAM. Note also the presence of a DVD burner at a time when it is now very rare. Of course, he should not be expected to do greedy tasks and he intends to stay on a desk given its size.

Chassis, connectors, screen of the Acer Aspire 3 A317-32-P1W7
The Acer Aspire A317-32-P1W7 favors the sobriety of an entirely matt black shell without any design element except the stippled finish on the edges. The set gains in elegance thanks to a rather refined silhouette (24 mm). Note also the presence of a numeric keypad in a fairly compact keyboard (probably the same as on the 15 inches). Unsurprisingly, the keyboard is not backlit and the touchpad is clickable.
Around the screen, Acer did not try to refine the black frame, which does not detract from the charm of the PC in our opinion. We discover a screen with basic specifications: a standard definition (1600 x 900 px) and the support of a TN panel leading to narrow viewing angles. We are dealing with a shiny CineCrystal panel whose rendering is more flattering than a matte panel in terms of the image but which will be subject to reflections.
Now let’s talk about the connection which is satisfied with the minimum but which nevertheless has a DVD / CD burner (very rare now). On the program, an HDMI output, two USB ports still limited to the 2.0 standard and a USB 3.2 port. No USB Type-C port or fingerprint reader provided. Note however that the wireless modules are recent (Wifi AC and Bluetooth 4.2) and that the PC also has a Gigabit Ethernet port for the wired connection.
Performance, battery life of the Acer Aspire 3 A317-32-P1W7
Next, let’s take a look at the element that is probably the most interesting inside this Acer Aspire 3 A317-32-P1W7: storage. This solution, composed of a dedicated 128 GB SSD and a 1000 GB hard drive, will be decisive from a reactivity point of view. In principle, the SSD will be able to accommodate the operating system and programs while the hard drive takes care of the storage of your game library, thus ensuring an efficient overall execution, fast on / off phases and data copies to accelerated flow rates.
The Aspire is equipped with a Pentium Silver Quad Core N5030 Gemini Lake Refresh whose performance is similar to that of a small Core i3. In other words, the processor largely supports office use built around web browsing, office work or video playback and won’t be against some light photo editing. On the other hand, there is only 4 GB of RAM in support, which could constitute a brake in multitasking. These days, 6-8 GB of RAM is recommended for smooth browsing in Windows 10.
Finally, battery life should hardly flirt with 5 hours of Internet browsing with active Wifi, it is in the low average.
