Targeting gamers, the new MSI GF75 10SER-074FR Thin laptop with 17-inch IPS Full HD anti-glare screen at 120Hz frequency to make games run smoother is able to run recent titles with its NVIDIA Turing GeForce RTX 2060 graphics card which also accelerates multimedia processing. Oriented creators, this computer delivers a good global power with its good amount of RAM and its processor Hexa Core i7 Comet Lake-H which reinforces the treatments, helped by the fast SSD storage (but of limited capacity). Backlit chiclet keyboard but also Wi-Fi ax and USB 3.1 Type-C connectivity are also on the agenda for this relatively thin and light designer-oriented black PC.

Chassis, connectors, screen of the MSI GF75 10SER-074FR Thin
It sports an elegant and sober design for a portable gamer whose codes it takes up with its black chassis, brushed metal aluminum finish and touches of red.
This relatively thin and light laptop for a 17 inch is cooled by 2 fans coupled to 7 heat pipes and air outlets.
Thanks to the Shift function, it is possible to switch between 3 operating modes (Sport, Comfort and Eco).
This gaming computer is well equipped in terms of connectivity with its Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi ax modules ( newer and more efficient than Wi-Fi ac ) to communicate and connect remotely wirelessly, its Ethernet and audio ports, its Convenient HDMI video output for easy connection to a TV or monitor, for example, its USB 3.1 Type-C or its 3 USB 3.0 (USB 2.0 compatible) ensuring transfers up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if USB 3.0 devices are plugged into it.
Of course, the chiclet keyboard can be backlit so that you can distinguish its keys correctly in a dim light environment. Its design comes from a partnership with SteelSeries so that it is adapted to the habits of the players.
Thanks to its IPS technology, the screen offers more faithful colorimetry than the average as well as significant vertical and horizontal viewing angles. It reinforces the fluidity in games thanks to its refresh rate of 120Hz higher than the standard 60Hz. In addition, thanks to its precise Full HD definition and its 16: 9 format, the screen lends itself well to displaying High Definition content and in particular videos. Anti-reflective, the screen also provides better visibility than a shiny panel in a bright environment (eg outside).
Performance, autonomy of the MSI GF75 10SER-074FR Thin
The MSI GF75 10SER-074FR Thin can appeal to those who want to invest in a 17-inch versatile laptop that is relatively compact and light but also efficient, oriented towards players and creators.
It is capable of running recent games because it embeds the dedicated GeForce RTX 2060 NVIDIA Turing graphics card with ray tracing.
It can also speed up processing under software using GPU computing power, such as Adobe Premiere / Photoshop and Sony Vegas.
In practice, the GeForce RTX 2060 is activated / deactivated automatically and in real time by the integrated NVIDIA Optimus technology, depending on the tasks performed.
Optimus gives maximum preference to the Intel UHD 630 solution integrated into the processor despite its very modest benefits because it consumes a lot of energy and therefore promotes autonomy. The GeForce RTX 2060 is therefore activated by Optimus to carry out graphics processing that is too heavy for the Intel UHD 630. With one and the other, one can of course watch photos and videos.
The heart of this computer supports the GeForce RTX 2060 well in games. It actually delivers a global power capable of attracting demanding users because it is based on a Hexa Core i7-10750H Comet Lake-H processor and a good amount of 16 GB RAM.
Certainly, the contribution of Hexa Core is variable in games compared to a Quad Core.
The fact remains that the core guarantees much faster processing than a Quad Core processor and 8 GB DDR4, particularly in areas that consume CPU and RAM resources taking advantage of multicores (e.g. video editing, photo editing, 3D rendering).
An essential parameter in games, responsiveness is very present with this PC, especially since it has a dedicated SSD storage.
Remember that an SSD is silent while being more energy efficient, more robust and much faster.
Thanks to the SSD, we can reach maps of online games faster but also get game launches / software, starts / stops and treatments much faster.
Certainly the on-board SSD offers a capacity rivaling hard disks with its 512 GB. But this may be too fair for some.
There is however the possibility of adding a second SSD or a hard drive via the free 2.5 inch slot. But also to use an external storage unit. Opting for a USB 3.0 device then represents an interesting solution to benefit from fast transfers.
Finally in terms of autonomy, put on about 5 hours of battery operation in light use for this computer with the thickness and weight contained for a 17 inch, comfortable format especially intended for sedentary use (eg at home).
Despite its finesse, the heater seems to be fairly well controlled, as is the noise (for a portable gamer).
