16″ Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming Chromebook Specs and Details

The Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming Chromebook filters on the web, the first laptop targeting gamers running Google Chrome OS. Intel Alder Lake processor, SSD storage, Wi-Fi 6 and USB-C connectivity or 16-inch 2.5K screen.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming Chromebook is a new laptop that as the name suggests is a Chromebook.
So it runs on Google’s free Chrome OS system.

Google is looking to offer users to be able to play with Chromebooks. That’s why the MountainView firm has announced that it is working with Valve to enable native Steam gaming on Chrome OS.

It is in this context that Lenovo plans to launch its new Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming Chromebook laptop. However, while it targets gamers, it does not include a dedicated graphics card (!) which will put off a maximum of gamers.

Its screen is in any case suitable for gaming as well as High Definition since it is entrusted to a 16-inch IPS 2.5K QHD (2560×1600) 16/10th 350cd / m² anti-glare 100% sRGB low blue light emission with 120Hz frequency improving fluidity in games.

Another feature that will interest gamers: the 4-zone RGB backlight solution of the chiclet keyboard with numeric keypad.

A Full HD webcam with microphone and Privacy Shutter to preserve privacy is also part of the game, as are 4 speakers (4 x 2W) Waves MaxxAudio.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming Chromebook offers 6-ax Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, headphone/mic combo audio, 2 USB 3.0, 2 USB-C and a microSD card reader.

The heart of this laptop for those who play Steam consists of an Intel Alder Lake processor and more precisely Alder Lake-U low power Core i3-1215U (6 cores: 2P 1.2 GHz, 4E 0.9 GHz) or Core i5-1235U (10 cores: 2P 1.3 GHz, 8E 0.9 GHz), both housing directly within them the Iris Xe graphics solution.

Also present are at least 8 GB of RAM and M.2 NVMe SSD storage with a maximum capacity of 512 GB.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming Chromebook with aluminum design should soon be formalized by Lenovo.
