Designed to meet all multimedia profiles, the Acer Aspire 5 A515-54G-7326 is a 15 inch ultrabook with an elegant look and interesting attributes, starting with its fast 1 TB SSD storage. Its silver case of 1, 8 kg also hides a Core i7 Quad Core low consumption as well as a GeForce MX350 graphics card for surfing smoothly and playing at times, supported by 8 GB of RAM. The Full HD IPS mat screen bodes well for moviegoers and the addition of a backlit keyboard, Wifi 6 and a fingerprint reader ensures the share of amenities but autonomy should not exceed 5 to 6 hours.

Chassis, connectors, screen of the Acer Aspire 5 A515-54G-7326
The silhouette of the Aspire 5 does not change compared to its predecessor. Acer always dresses it in a slightly rough matte silver color, quite basic. The case is shaped with plastic and a little aluminum to strengthen the back of the cover and the base at the keys. Suddenly, it gains robustness during transport and over time.
Its format fits into the circle of ultrabooks but is not the best optimized in this sense with 18 mm thick and a format 363 x 250 mm. Its weight is fixed around 1.9 kg . It is not the lightest in the segment but it is still better than the 2.2 kg of the previous Aspire 5.
The keyboard is backlit to highlight the black keys. It is practical when working in a dark environment or on the train for example.
In the center of this Acer Aspire A515-54G-7326 also shines a beautiful Full HD mat screen with rather thin side borders. The Full HD definition (1920 x 1080 px) offers an extended display space allowing you to fully enjoy the High Definition content (video, game) while the Confyview matte panel will prevent ambient light from being reflected on the screen. Note also that the screen is now installed on an IPS panel, more comfortable than TN thanks to its wider viewing angles and a rendering a little more faithful to the color level, even if we are far from the level of the high panels. range obviously.
The sides are equipped with a fairly standard connection with four USB ports which still include a USB 2.0, two USB 3.1 and a USB Type-C . There is also an HDMI output and a Gigabit Ethernet port while the modules take advantage of the latest Wifi AX (Wifi 6) and Bluetooth 5.0. Note that the card reader has disappeared but that the fingerprint reader resurfaces on the touchpad. It\’s handy for connecting to your session in a second.
Performance, autonomy of the Acer Aspire A515-54G-7326
The heart of the ultrabook is powered by a 10th generation Comet Lake Core i7-10510U processor . The gain is not significant compared to the Core i7-8565U of 9th generation (Whiskey Lake) but remains a little notch above that said. Anyway, the Aspire will not leave any work aside and will cover all of the current use (Web browsing, Office processing, video) with a good mastery in more greedy applications, drawing from the architecture multicore (video editing, Photoshop …). The 8 GB of RAM is the minimum to surf comfortably these days.
On the graphics side, when the Intel UHD chip no longer offers enough resources for the required use, the dedicated GeForce MX350 graphics card takes over. This recent card based on the Pascal architecture offers roughly 20% more performance than its predecessor the GeForce MX250, enough to be discreetly close to a GeForce GTX 1050 and allow some fun quality sessions. Be careful though to limit yourself to undemanding titles or failing that, not to be too careful about the details. We obviously do not reach the level of playability of a Hexa Core / GTX-RTX duo but the support is honest for current use punctuated by a few graphic and / or game tasks.
Storage entrusted to a fast dedicated 1 TB SSD (NVMe PCIe)is another big plus inside the Acer Aspire A515-54G-7326. The system gains directly compared to a configuration with mechanical hard drive because of the speed of loading offered by the SSD. This type of storage provides almost instantaneous on and off phases, transfers calculated in seconds or instant software launches where the mechanical support involved significant latencies. Note also that the SSD is inherently quieter, more robust and efficient than a hard drive. And if it is often tackled for its too low storage capacity, it is not the case here since it provides 1 TB, enough to allow the installation of heavy programs and the storage of your entire toy library.
Let’s finish with an idea of autonomy which benefits from this declination of a 48 Whr battery. Acer announces more than 9 hours but given the limited capacity of the battery, it is more realistic to expect a total of 6 hours in Internet browsing with active Wifi.
