With its capacity-rich storage and 8 GB RAM, the Asus R543UA-DM2993T has a good level of responsiveness. The Core i3 processor is boosted by these two strong points and takes care of the entire office automation while the screen gives pride of place to High Definition videos. Its weight of 1.9 kg is also to be taken into account if you plan to take it with you occasionally and its design is neat but keep in mind that its plastic case will not long resist the shocks of transport and that its autonomy will not allow more 4 hours of freedom.

Chassis, connectors, Asus R543UA-DM2993T screen
The design of the Asus R543UA-DM2993T is tested with a touch of elegance with the back of the cover and the surround of the silver keyboard with brushed effect but the rest of the shell is made of black plastic, in particular the wide borders which surround the screen. The assembly is correct for an entry-level PC and the overall weight is very well contained ( 1.9 kg ). A strong point a little tarnished by the thickness of 27.2 cm well above the average in 2020. The keyboard is not backlit.
At the opening, we discover a Full HD screen (1920 x 1080 pixels), a beneficial definition with its high display density allowing to view High Definition content in the best conditions and to modulate the display. Opposite, its matt treatment is a barrier to reflections in a light environment while the support of the TN panel (logical at this price) limits the viewing angles and the accuracy of the colors.
The turn of the connection is limited to the left side of the PC and it turns out to be rather outdated. We notably come across a microSD card reader, an HDMI output and three USB ports including one USB 3.1 and two USB 2.0. No USB-C therefore. For data transfer, the Ethernet port does not seem to be on the program, you will have to be satisfied with the Wifi AC and Bluetooth 4.2 modules which have the advantage of being fairly recent. This reference does not include an optical drive.
Performance, battery life of the Asus R543UA-DM2993T
Focus on the element that brings real added value to the PC, storage, there to promote system responsiveness without compromising on capacity. Indeed, the dedicated 256 GB SSD will be able to accommodate the operating system and all programs and games and thus contribute to more responsive execution, shorter loading times and a more lively environment overall. The additional 1000 GB hard drive is there to allow you to archive your entire toy library without limits.
The heart of the Asus R543UA-DM2993T does not leave indifferent either even if we could expect a more recent generation processor in early 2019. It is entrusted to a 6th generation Core i3-6006U (as a reminder, we are at the 10th gen in 2020). This processor is intended for an office operation targeting all the daily routine tasks (web browsing, Office pack, video playback, etc.) with only a very small field of action for occasional photo editing. On the other hand, the 8 GB of RAM is precious to give navigation a boost and an impression of “performance”, especially if you like multitasking.
As for graphics, the HD 520 solution integrated into the processor is not capable of satisfying gamers but easily supports current use such as video streaming or the display of complex web pages.
Finally, we should not have too much hope regarding the autonomy of this PC. In current use, it will not be able to exceed 4/5 hours and can be a little more under personalized profiles (low brightness, light intensive use).
