Chassis, connectors, screen of the Asus Vivobook S409UA-EK054T
This computer has a sober and elegant look with its light silver design.
Positioned mostly on the left, the connections it incorporates are good. It consists of 1 USB 3.1 Type-C, a practical HDMI video output to easily connect this PC to a TV or a monitor for example, Bluetooth 4.1 and Wi-Fi ac wireless modules to communicate and connect remotely, from an audio port but also from 2 USB 2.0 compatible USB 2.0 and USB 3.0, USB 3.0 ensuring transfers taking place up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if you connect a peripheral USB 3.0.
In terms of display, Asus chooses a 16: 9 screen with precise Full HD definition, significant features for watching videos and more broadly High Definition content. As it is anti-reflective, the screen provides better visibility than a glossy panel in a bright environment (eg outside).
Performance, autonomy of the Asus Vivobook S409UA-EK054T
The Asus Vivobook S409UA-EK054T is a lightweight, responsive High Definition laptop designed for everyday use.
It has a good amount of RAM of 8 GB very significant in multitasking. And all the more that it supports a processor showing its limits under software that consumes CPU resources, the core i3-7020U low consumption Kaby Lake which is no longer young.
Still, this duo delivers good benefits in everyday use, such as office automation and surfing the Internet. With this lightweight PC, you can view photos and videos. Forget the game however since no dedicated graphics card is on board. All the graphics are indeed supported by the Intel HD 620 part integrated into the Core i3 which is modest.
On the storage side, there is an integrated SSD thanks to which the PC is significantly more responsive and fluid than if it were based on a hard disk. This notably benefits from much faster software start / stop and launch.
Remember that an SSD is much faster than a hard drive but also less energy-consuming, more shock-resistant and quieter. But here the capacity of 256 GB offered is lower than the standard of hard drives. It was the norm until recently but it\’s been evolving positively lately, and we can find competitors with 512 GB SSD.
In any case, there is obviously the possibility of using an external storage unit such as a USB 3.0 device to benefit from rapid transfers.
As for autonomy, bet on about 5 hours of battery operation in light use for this computer whose weight contained less than 2 Kg facilitates transport. Its thickness is greater than that of an Ultrabook.
