Chassis, connectors, screen of the Asus Vivobook S412FA-EK934T

Its Transparent Silver Clear Silver ErgoLift hinge frame which slightly raises it forward when opened gives it a sober, elegant and original design.

In terms of connectivity, this thin and light Ultrabook is well equipped with its USB 3.1 Type-C, its Bluetooth 4.2 wireless modules and Wi-Fi ac to communicate and connect remotely, its practical HDMI video output for easy connection to a TV or a monitor for example, its audio port as well as its 2 USB 2.0 compatible USB 2.0 and USB 3.0, USB 3.0 guaranteeing transfers up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if you connect a USB 3.0 device.

This computer stands out with its NumberPad module thanks to which the touchpad can act as a classic touchpad of course, but also with the need for a numeric touch pad, which is practical for entering numbers.
Remember in this regard that laptops smaller than 15 inches do not have a physical numeric keypad for lack of space, which the NumPad overcomes.

The screen will appeal to lovers of High Definition content and especially videos thanks to its precise Full HD definition and its 16: 9 format. It is also more readable in a light environment (eg outside) than a shiny panel thanks to its anti-reflective treatment.

Performance, autonomy of the Asus Vivobook S412FA-EK934T

The Asus Vivobook S412FA-EK934T is a compact, responsive High Definition laptop for everyday use.

In this area, as in office automation and Internet surfing, it delivers good benefits because it is built around a low-consumption Whiskey Lake Core i3-8145U processor, one of the first to take advantage of the Turbo mode bringing a significant increase in performances compared to the old Core i3 by being deprived (Core i3-7xxxU and lower).

In addition here the Core i3 Turbo is coupled with a good amount of RAM of 8 GB very useful in multitasking. Keep in mind, however, that in order to carry out tasks that consume processor resources and exploit the multicore, it is better to turn to a PC based on a Quad Core processor.

Unsurprisingly at this level of positioning, no dedicated graphics card is on board. This thin and light PC is therefore not suitable for games and more generally for heavy graphics work. It obviously allows you to view photos and videos thanks to the modest benefits of the Intel UHD 620 part integrated into the Core i3 which takes care of all the graphics.

As for storage, Asus has chosen an SSD here. It guarantees a much more reactive and fluid operation than a daily hard drive and we thus benefit for example from start / stop and launch of applications much faster.

Remember that compared to a hard drive, an SSD is much faster but also less energy-consuming, more robust and quieter. Here, however, the capacity of the on-board SSD is lower than the standard for hard drives.
And if 256 GB is sufficient for a number of uses, in case it is too fair, we can always rely on an external storage unit. Favoring a USB 3.0 device is therefore an interesting option for obtaining fast transfers.

As for autonomy, count on about 5 hours of battery operation in light use for this Ultrabook whose controlled weight and compactness facilitate transport.
