Compal won the IF Design Award 2020 with its new innovative original PivoBook laptop with its OLED screen that rotates 90 °.
The Taiwanese manufacturer Compal is known for manufacturing laptops for brands with a storefront.
And it has just won the IF Design Award 2020 for its new original laptop, the Compal PivoBook .
As its name suggests, the PivoBook is a portable PC incorporating a pivot system, here at the level of the screen which can rotate 90 ° to switch from classic horizontal landscape mode to vertical portrait mode , without having to turn the PC.
The Compal PivoBook is therefore not a 2-in-1 laptop or convertible into a Tablet, but is positioned in a new class of PC taking advantage of a unique hinge system.
For the moment, Compal communicates little about the categories of its PivoBook. We know however that it is intended to be light with 1.5 Kg on the scale.
Side display the screen swiveled 90 ° with one hand is a late model 14-inch OLED Full HD (1920×1080) Touch Multi-Touch.
For the rest of the specifications, you will have to wait to learn more about this Compal PivoBook computer adopting an elegant design with its black brushed metal finish and touches of gold.
As always, Compal will not market its PivoBook directly to the general public. It remains to be seen whether brands will be interested. In any case, the Taiwanese claims that his PivoBook is ready for 2020.
Surprisingly, Compal mentions North America and Asia as targeted regions, but not Europe. This will not however prevent an exit from the PivoBook (under another name) if a brand sold in France proves to be seduced by the concept.
