Dynabook Tecra A40-E Specs and Details

Dynabook Europe GmbH unveils its Tecra A40-E, a new 14-inch lightweight Pro-oriented laptop that wants to be ultra-connected.

As a reminder, Dynabook is the new name of the Toshiba PC branch .
The brand has already announced its Dynabook Portégé X30-F and Tecra X40-F last July, and more recently on the Dynabook Tecra X50-F at the IFA 2019 .

It is the Dynabook Tecra A40-E that is announced, presented as an ”  easy to carry, secure and ultra-connected laptop  “.

It must be said that it displays a weight content of 1.47 Kg lower than its predecessor (1.95 Kg for the Tecra A40-D) and offers autonomy until 13:30 (against 8 hours for the A40-D). Its battery (capacity not communicated) can be recharged for 4 hours in just 30 minutes.

The security part is dedicated to the “home” BIOS coupled to a TPM security chip for 2-factor authentication thanks to the SecurePad with fingerprint reader – a touchpad that integrates a biometric reader.

Integrated as standard, the fingerprint reader can be optionally combined with a Windows Hello-compatible infrared webcam for face recognition and / or a SmartCard reader .

In terms of wireless connectivity, Dynabook provides for its Tecra A40-E Wi-Fi ac (Intel Wireless-AC 8265), Bluetooth but also a 4G / LTE option .
Connectivity also includes a microSD card reader, HDMI video output, Gigabit Ethernet ports and headset / microphone combo audio, 1 or 2 (depending on configuration) USB 3.0 and 1 USB 3.1 Type-C .

The Dynabook Tecra A40-E benefits from a chassis that is robust and tested ”  in compliance with very stringent military standards  .” This suggests at least MIL-STD-810G compliance.

For Damian Jaume, President of Dynabook Europe GmbH:

The Tecra A40-E has been developed with all companies in mind, regardless of size or sector.
The launch of this computer demonstrates the commitment we have made to innovate in the European enterprise PC market and to expand our range of user-oriented machines, in the continuity of the new image of the world. \’business.

The display of the Dynabook Tecra A40-E is entrusted to a 14-inch Full HD anti-reflective screen (1920×1080) that ”  reduces eye fatigue for workers and ensures performance that is not affected by variable lighting  .” We can expect a technology to reduce the blue light emitted by the slab.

At the heart of this computer is a 256GB or 512GB or 1 TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD storage . It is associated with an Intel Core 8th generation (and not 10th while the Ice Lake and Comet Lake are marketed). This is likely to be a low energy Kaby Lake Refresh up to the i7-8565U Quad Core (1.8 GHz) with integrated Intel UHD 620 graphics.
