Chassis, connectors, screen of the HP Pavilion 15-cs3003nf
The HP Pavilion 15-cs3003nf uses most of the aesthetic codes applied to its predecessors (15-cc and 15-ck). But if we look closely, we notice a more angular silhouette, a now central hinge that raises the keyboard when the cover is opened or even a graphic design of the speaker grilles. That is just about everything. The polycarbonate shell sports a matte silver tint on the base and gray on the back of the cover.
It can also be seen that the borders on either side of the screen have been refined, which implies a smaller size. The thickness has also gained a few millimeters ( 17.9 mm ) and the weight a few grams ( 1.85 kg ) but these measurements remain in the average of the 15-inch ultrabook category.
When opening the ultrabook, we discover a 14-inch screen placed on a micro-edge IPS panel with side edges of a few millimeters. It sports an extended Full HD definition (1920 x 1080 px) which offers all the latitude to enjoy your content in High Definition and to modulate the display of windows on the screen. Comfort is guaranteed thanks to wide viewing angles (IPS), a respected color spectrum and an anti-reflective surface that fights against reflections in a bright environment.
Good point, the keyboard is backlit in white to highlight the silver keys and allow better typing in a dark environment.
The connection is content with a correct level. It receives three USB ports including two USB 3.1 and a USB Type-C (Gen1), an HDMI output, an SD card reader and a Gigabit Ethernet port. The wireless modules are recent Bluetooth 5.0 and Wifi AC but there is no fingerprint reader.
Performance, battery life of the HP Pavilion 15-cs3003nf
To support all that surrounds everyday use, the Pavilion 15-cs3003nf is powered by a 10th generation (2019) Ice Lake processor , the Core i5-1035G1 Quad Core . Thus, the PC covers all current use (Web browsing, Office processing, video) with a fairly advanced mastery in more demanding applications using multicore architecture (video editing, light Photoshop …). Attention, we are on low consumption and not on powerful processors type -H. In fact, if you try your hand at CPU intensive tasks, you will face more or less harmful latencies.
Special mention for the 12 GB of RAM thanks to which the system will not lose fluidity in multitasking whatever the use. It also makes it possible to see the coming years ahead with confidence.
Storage is handled by a 512 GB NVMe PCIe SSD . This will directly serve the overall responsiveness of the system on a daily basis compared to a configuration with a mechanical hard drive. Based on a PCIe interface faster than SATA3, the SSD ensures shortened loading times, almost instantaneous Windows launch and very fast file copies, not to mention the qualities in terms of energy savings, durability and silence from the SSD. Not to spoil anything, its capacity is not ridiculous and can accommodate a good part of your game library.
Let’s finish with a point on battery life. The battery inherits a limited capacity of 41 Whr but still manages to provide almost 7 hours of autonomy in Internet browsing with active Wifi on our Pavilion 15.
