Powered by a powerful AMD Ryzen 5 processor, the Acer Aspire 3 A315-23-R52E has everything from a productive PC to everyday office use. Installed in a black case goes everywhere and compact, it is directly aimed at speed lovers with its 512 GB SSD storage and 8 GB RAM. These support a Ryzen 5 Quad Core processor perfect for everyday use while that the images are entrusted to a full HD matte screen that will appeal to moviegoers. On the other hand, we have already seen thinner and lighter in 2020, the screen is based on a TN panel and not IPS and the case requires some precautions for movement (cover).

Chassis, connectors, screen of the Acer Aspire 3 A315-23-R52E
The Acer Aspire A315-23-R52E favors the sobriety of an entirely matt black shell without any particular finish but the assembly is neat. The ensemble gains in elegance thanks to a refined silhouette (19.0 mm). Note also the presence of a numeric keypad, where more and more 15 inches prefer to remove it to compact the chassis. Unsurprisingly, the keyboard is not backlit and the touchpad is clickable, but the side borders around the screen are refined.
We open on a 15-inch screen that deploys a Full HD definition (1920 x 1080 pixels) whose high display density offers all the latitude to view content in High Definition and to enjoy a perfectly clear image at the naked eye. On the other hand, we are not dealing with an IPS panel but with more basic TN, causing reduced approach angles and unreliable colorimetry. This is hardly surprising at this price point.
Now let’s talk about the connection which is satisfied with the minimum. On the program, an HDMI output, three USB ports, one of which is still limited to the 2.0 standard, and an SD card reader. No USB Type-C port or fingerprint reader provided. Note however that the wireless modules are recent (Wifi AC and Bluetooth 4.2) and that the PC also has a Gigabit Ethernet port for the wired connection.
Performance, battery life of the Acer Aspire 3 A315-23-R52E
In the foreground, the storage is entrusted to a 512 GB M.2 SSD which will bring a welcome dose of responsiveness to the system. Compared to a standard mechanical hard drive, is is quieter, more robust and energy efficient, and allows Windows to achieve remarkable smoothness with short load times and zero latency execution. What’s more, its capacity is nothing short of ridiculous and can accommodate a good chunk of your game library although some may not find it sufficient.
But the capabilities of this Acer Aspire 3 A315-23-R52E depend mainly on the processor, entrusted here to the latest generation AMD APU Quad Core Ryzen 5 3500U low consumption. It succeeds the Ryzen 5 2500U with a gain of less and less 10% in terms of power, enough to reach a level close to a Quad Core i5-8265U. In fact, everyday usage is perfectly supported and you can even tackle photo editing, video editing, and light computing missions without too much shaking. Especially since the APU is supported by 8 GB of RAM , a total adequate to navigate smoothly in multitasking .
The AMD Radeon Vega 8 chipset integrated into the processor will take care of the graphics rendering, that is to say that it holds up to the Intel UHD 620 chip of the Intel Comet Lake / Whiskey Lake processors. While the latter is similar to a GeForce MX110 in terms of performance, the Vega 8 will equal a GeForce MX130 and allow some game in definition and medium details (1366 x 768 px).
Finally, autonomy should hardly flirt with 5 hours of Internet browsing with active Wifi, it is in the low average.
