Chassis, connectors, screen of Acer Aspire 5 A515-56-576N
It has an elegant and discreet look with its silver frame that raises it forward when opened.
This versatile Ultrabook has good connectivity including 1 USB-C, Wi-Fi ax wireless modules ( newer and more efficient than Wi-Fi ac ) and Bluetooth 5.0 for remote connections and communications, Ethernet ports and audio, a practical HDMI video output for easy connection to a TV or monitor for example, as well as 3 USBs all compatible with both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0, the USB 3.0 guaranteeing transfers up to 10 times faster than in USB 2.0 if USB 3.0 devices are connected to it.
A backlighting system is also fitted to the chiclet keyboard, which is very practical for distinguishing its keys when the ambient light is limited.
The screen has Acer Bluelight Shield technology which attenuates the blue light it emits by up to 30%.
It also lends itself very well to the display of High Definition content such as videos due to its precise Full HD definition and its 16: 9 format. In addition, since it is anti-reflective, the screen is also more readable than a shiny panel in a bright environment (eg outdoors).
Performance, battery life of Acer Aspire 5 A515-56-576N
The Acer Aspire 5 A515-56-576N is a 15-inch High Definition laptop designed for everyday versatile use on the go.
Its transport is facilitated by its controlled weight and its lightness. In addition side battery life, we can bet on about 7 hours of battery operation in light use.
It must be said that it incorporates energy-efficient components such as its low-power Quad Core i5-1135G7 Tiger Lake processor. Coupled with 8 GB of RAM, it delivers good performance to suit many users.
However, to often perform work that requires processor resources, it is better to opt for a PC with a non-low consumption processor. Ditto if you want to perform heavy graphics processing or play greedy titles.
That being said, we can still watch photos and videos on this Ultrabook which is also capable of running games that are not too greedy in 3D resources because it takes advantage of the capabilities of the Iris Xe graphics part tested by us and integrated into the Quad Core i5 Tiger Lake. However, they are clearly superior to those of the classic UHD 620 of Intel processors.
On the storage side, we find an SSD that consumes less energy than a hard drive but also silent, more robust and much faster.
On a daily basis thanks to the SSD, we take advantage of much faster starts / stops than with a simple hard drive, just like processing and software launches.
However, this Ultrabook sins by the storage capacity it offers. We are indeed dealing with a 256 GB SSD, which is lower than the standard of hard drives and the average.
Admittedly, this is sufficient for a number of uses but if more space is needed, an external storage unit can be used. Favoring a USB 3.0 device then represents an interesting option for obtaining fast transfers.
A 2.5 inch slot is also free to add a second SSD or a hard drive.
