Chassis, connectors, screen of Acer Aspire 5 A515-56G-51AM
This slim and light versatile Ultrabook has a sober and elegant look with its light silver design.
This laptop PC is well equipped in terms of connectivity with its USB-C, its practical HDMI video output for easy connection to a TV or monitor for example, its wireless Wi-Fi modules ax ( more recent and efficient than the Wi-Fi ac ) and Bluetooth 5.0 for remote connections and communications, its Ethernet and audio ports not to mention its 3 USBs all compatible with both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0, the USB 3.0 guaranteeing transfers up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if USB 3.0 devices are plugged into it.
Via Windows Hello technology, you can authenticate by biometric recognition on this Ultrabook because it includes a fingerprint reader.
The chiclet keyboard can be backlit, a very practical feature to distinguish them correctly in the event of a reduced lighting environment.
The screen has significant vertical and horizontal viewing angles thanks to its IPS technology. It is also very suitable for displaying videos and more generally High Definition content thanks to its 16: 9 format and precise Full HD definition. Thanks to its anti-reflective treatment, the screen is also more readable in a bright environment (eg outdoors) than a shiny panel.
As Acer Bluelight Shield technology is involved, the blue light emitted by the screen is attenuated by up to 30%.
Performance, battery life of Acer Aspire 5 A515-56G-51AM
The Acer Aspire 5 A515-56G-51AM is a 15-inch High Definition laptop designed for everyday versatile use on the go.
Thanks to its 8 GB of RAM and its Tiger Lake low power Quad Core i5-1135G7 processor, this Ultrabook delivers good overall performance to suit many users.
In addition to the graphics processing side, we are dealing with the Intel Iris Xe solution (tested by us) integrated into the Quad Core i5 – significantly more efficient than the classic Intel UHD 620 – but also with the dedicated GeForce MX350 card. On-board NVIDIA Optimus technology automatically switches between the two in real time as needed.
Optimus favors as much as possible the Intel Iris Xe despite its modest benefits because it is energy efficient and thus promotes battery life compared to the GeForce MX350 certainly more greedy but in return more powerful.
The GeForce MX350 is activated by Optimus to perform graphics processing deemed too heavy for the Intel Iris Xe. Thanks to the Iris Xe and the GeForce MX350, you can run a lot of games on this thin and light PC. But the GeForce MX350 is a little more powerful (and greedy). In any case with one or the other, you can watch photos and videos.
But of course if the objective is to perform treatments that require processor and / or graphics resources on a regular basis, we will prefer to turn to a PC equipped with a non-low consumption processor and / or a graphics card. dedicated adequate.
As for storage, Acer chooses an SSD. It has the advantage of being silent but also more robust than a hard drive, less energy consuming and much faster.
