Chassis, connectors, screen of the Acer Aspire Vero AV15-51-56GD

Made from 30% recycled plastic , this thin and light laptop PC has an original look with its speckled gray design.

It is equipped with a good connection consisting of 1 USB-C, a useful HDMI video output so that it can easily be connected to a TV or a monitor, for example, Wi-Fi ax wireless modules ( more recent and performance than Wi-Fi ac ) and Bluetooth 5.1 for remote connections and communications, audio and Ethernet ports but also 3 USBs all compatible with both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0, the USB 3.0 guaranteeing transfers up to ‘at 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if you plug USB 3.0 devices into it.

As a fingerprint reader is integrated, we can authenticate biometrically via Windows Hello technology.

A backlighting system of course equips the chiclet keyboard, which is expected and nevertheless appreciable so that the keys are better distinguished when the ambient light is limited.

The screen benefits from Acer Bluelight Shield technology which attenuates up to 30% the blue light it emits.
In addition, thanks to its IPS technology, the screen benefits from significant horizontal and vertical viewing angles. Thanks to its anti-reflective treatment, the screen also offers better visibility than a shiny panel in a bright environment (eg outdoors). In addition, with its Full HD definition and its 16: 9 format, the screen lends itself well to the display of High Definition content such as videos.

Performance, battery life of the Acer Aspire Vero AV15-51-56GD

The Acer Aspire Vero AV15-51-56GD is a thin and light 15-inch High Definition laptop designed for everyday general-purpose use.

The general performances that it provides are able to satisfy many users because it embeds 16 GB of RAM associated with a low consumption processor with 28W TDP implying a greater power than the 15W models, the Quad Core i5-1155G7 low power Intel Tiger Lake.

This houses within it the Iris Xe graphics part (which we tested) , the performance of which is clearly superior to those of the classic Intel UHD 620.

In practice, thanks to the Iris Xe, you can watch photos and videos but also play games that do not require too much 3D resources.

That being said, it is better to turn to a PC with a non-low consumption processor and / or an appropriate dedicated graphics card if you plan to often perform work that requires processor resources and / or graphic.

As for storage, Acer chooses a 512 GB SSD, a capacity similar to that offered by standard hard drives. But compared to the latter, let us remember the whole of an SSD: greater robustness, lower energy consumption, silent operation and higher velocity.

As a result, thanks to the SSD, we benefit for example from much faster starts / stops as well as software launches and treatments, or even a faster arrival on the cards of online games. In general, the SSD provides much better fluidity and responsiveness to use than a simple hard drive.

Of course, if 512 GB is too small, you can use an external storage unit. Opting for a USB 3.0 / USB-C device then represents an interesting solution to take advantage of fast transfers.

Finally, this versatile Ultrabook, easy to carry thanks to its thinness and its contained weight, is not among the most autonomous since it can hold about 6 hours of operation on battery in light use, notably as a result of the TDP of 28W of the processor which consumes more power than the 15W editions.
