The Acer Extensa 2540-35AX is a classic format notebook for everyday use.
In this area such as office automation and surfing the Internet and multitasking not too pushed, it delivers good benefits. It is indeed based around 4 GB of RAM and a low-power processor Skylake Core i3-6006U which reveals its limits under software demanding CPU resources, which is manifested by slowdowns.
Thanks to its dedicated SSD storage, this computer is significantly more fluid and responsive than if it had been equipped with a hard disk. Compared to the latter, remember that a SSD is much faster while being more robust, more energy efficient and quiet. With its 128 GB, however, it often offers a lower capacity standard hard drives.
However, if the 128 GB is too accurate, do not panic. We can obviously rely on an external storage unit as a USB 3.0 device to enjoy transfers up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0.
Connectivity side, there are indeed built-in 3 USB all compatible both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 including 1 USB 3.0 as well as Wi-Fi ac and Bluetooth 4.0 wireless modules for connections and remote communications, Ethernet ports and audio, not to mention useful VGA and HDMI video outputs to easily connect the PC to a monitor or TV for example.
On the display side, the screen stands out with its antireflection treatment making it more legible than a glossy panel in a bright environment and less tiring for the eyes in the long run. Beside that, the screen adopts classic features with its definition of 1366×768 and its 16 / 9th format suitable for playing videos.
Thanks to the Intel HD 520 graphics solution integrated into the Core i3, it is of course possible to watch photos and videos on this laptop that is not suitable for games since it lacks a dedicated GPU.
As for autonomy, we can expect to spend about 5 hours on battery surfing the Internet via Wi-Fi.
