Chassis, connectors, Screen Acer Spin 3 SP314-53N-37F6
It has an elegant and discreet look with its brushed metal finish.
This Ultrabook is a hybrid that can be easily and quickly transformed into tablets thanks to its system of special hinges and its touch screen multi-touch.
One can thus interact with the system and the software by simple application of at least one finger on the slab or the provided stylus (which is housed in the frame), and this by pressures / gestures. It only takes 15 seconds in its location for the stylus to recharge for 1 hour of operation.
The screen also benefits from IPS technology. As a result, it reproduces colors more accurately than average and ensures comfortable vertical and horizontal viewing angles. With its precise Full HD definition, the screen is also suitable for displaying High Definition content and particularly for videos in its 16: 9 format. As it is tactile, the screen is brilliant. As a result, it revives colors but is sensitive to reflections in bright environments (ex: outdoor).
The screen also benefits from BluelightShield technology to attenuate the blue light it emits.
Connectivity side, there is a convenient HDMI video output to easily connect this Ultrabook 2-in-1 to a TV or monitor for example, wireless modules Wi-Fi ac and Bluetooth 5.0 for connections and remote communications, a USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 USB 2.0 audio ports, with USB 3.0 providing up to 10x faster transfer speeds than USB 2.0 if a USB 3.0 device is plugged into it.
No doubt some will regret the lack of a 3rd USB port (classic format or USB-C).
Performance, autonomy of Acer Spin 3 SP314-53N-37F6
The Acer Spin 3 SP314-53N-37F6 is a compact High Definition laptop convertible tablet for everyday mobile use.
Nomad, it is clearly with its autonomy that allows him to hold about 10 hours on battery in light use. And even more so if you add its compactness with a beautiful finesse and its weight content.
To do this, this hybrid Ultrabook relies on energy efficient components. Starting with the storage entrusted to a SSD less energy consuming than a hard drive but also more robust, quiet and much faster.
In practice the SSD guarantees daily operation significantly more responsive and fluid than a hard drive, with startups / stops and software launches much faster.
Generally with embedded SSDs, we obtain a capacity lower than the standard of the hard disks. This hybrid computer is no exception to this state of affairs but still has a 256 GB SSD sufficient for many uses. However, if this proves to be too fair, we can always use an external storage unit as a USB 3.0 device to get fast transfers.
The SSD goes well with the heart of this Ultrabook 2-in-1. It consists of a low-consumption Whiskey Lake processor Core i3-8145U, one of the very first Core i3 Turbo, which has a much higher performance than the non-Turbo Core i3.
The Core i3-8145U Turbo is here coupled with a good amount of RAM 8 GB useful in multitasking. This duo delivers good general benefits but shows its limits under processor-intensive applications. For the latter, it is better to opt for a Quad Core processor.
As it skips a dedicated GPU, this thin and lightweight notebook is not suitable for heavy graphics work like games. The modest performance of the Intel UHD 620 is, however, sufficient to view photos and videos of course.
