Dominated by a beautiful screen in a comfortable 3: 2 format, wider in height than 16: 9, and in high definition QHD (2256×1504 px), the Acer Swift 3 SF313-52-535U is a 13-inch ultrabook all suitable for productive nomads. Its 10th generation Core i5 Quad Core processor allows quality office and multimedia use and its SSD storage is responsive. Let\’s not forget the addition of precious amenities like the backlit keyboard, the metallic chassis, the fingerprint reader and the Thunderbolt 3 connectors, all integrated in a 1.19 kg case and offering 10 hours of autonomy. However, the storage capacity may seem quite limited.

Chassis, connectors, screen of the Acer Swift SF313-52-535U
The Swift 3 is famous in the Acer office range and among the best ultrabooks in its category. For 20, Acer has properly redesigned its “best seller” in 13 inches and offers it a case of lithium-magnesium-aluminum alloy. This hybrid material crossed on the Swift 5 and 7 so far is known for its solidity but also and above all on its lightness. Thus, the Swift SF313-52-535U can advance 1.19 kg on the scale only. The format has also been compacted and shows a thickness of 16 mm for a limited size (302 x 234 mm).
The keyboard is backlit with white on several brightness levels. It is rather practical in the dark but otherwise, during the day, the white on the silver keys has the opposite effect and complicates the legibility of the lettering. In this case, simply deactivate it.
We find the angular silhouette of its big brother in 14 inches (Swift 3 SF314-57) with which Acer has associated on this model a matt silver surface of the most neutral. The care given to the finishes is visible and the assembly is of quality even if some details betray its “mid-range” positioning like its dark plastic frame around the screen.
Speaking of it, the 13.5-inch screen cultivates a sense of significant immersion thanks to an amplified edge-to-edge design but above all to an extended QHD definition (2256×1504 px) . This screen definition offers a high density of display and a feeling of sharpness, appreciable even on 13 inches to enjoy your High Definition content in the best conditions and to enlarge the characters and details without losing precision. Besides, we can only recommend too much a magnified scaling (125% or more) to recover content at the right size. Bright (400 nits)and visible from all angles (IPS panel), the screen is covered with a glossy surface which will tend to reflect the ambient light. This is the price to pay for a more colorful and vivid perception than facing a matt / satin screen. Note also the unconventional format of the 3: 2 panel which will offer a little more space on the height and thus allow to browse a text by scrolling a little less than on traditional 16: 9. It is ideal for productivity.
Finally, the connection is distributed on the sides of the case and accommodates all the necessary, and even a little more. There are a total of three USB ports including a USB 2.0 (right, for the mouse), a USB 3.1 port and a versatile USB Type-C Gen2 . Surprise, it supports Thunderbolt 3 , a format previously reserved for high-end PCs that offers speeds up to 10 Gbps as well as video output and load in particular. There is also an HDMI output and a biometric reader (under the keyboard, on the right) to secure your data and authenticate yourself at your session with a simple touch of your finger (Windows Hello). The Wifi module takes advantage of the latest 802.11 AX standardand Bluetooth 5.0 is also on the menu. The SD card reader is absent for subscribers, however.
Performances, autonomy of the Acer Swift 3 SF313-52-535U
The 10th generation Ice Lake processor will propel the ultrabook to productive spheres. It is a Core i5-1035G1 Quad Core low consumption which gains a few points in performance over its predecessors (i5-8565U Whiskey Lake / i5-10210U Comet Lake) thanks to a finer engraving (10 nm). For the most part, it fully supports current use (Web browsing, Office processing, video) and masters some more demanding applications taking advantage of the multicore architecture (video editing, Photoshop …). Opposite, the 8 GB RAM provides a fluid environment for multitasking.
The integrated Intel UHD G1 graphics part is comparable to an Intel UHD 620 integrated in processors of previous generations. It takes care of graphic tasks related to current use and can even support some occasional games as long as they are not too greedy.
Let\’s continue with a notion of autonomy. Despite its small profile, the Swift 3 SF313-52-535U still managed to slide a 56 Whr battery, allowing it to offer more than 10 hours of autonomy . A force to take it with you for a whole day.
Finally, the storage is entrusted to an M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD of 256 GB , bringing its share of fluidity to Windows 10 and to the overall execution of the programs, knowing that this is paid for in terms of capacity. If you count the space occupied by the system and by the programs, there is only about 200 GB of free space, enough to accommodate a small part of your toy library. For the rest, it will be necessary to opt for an external or online storage solution.
