Performance, autonomy of the Asus R509JA-EJ029T
The Asus R509JA-EJ029T is a compact and responsive High Definition laptop for everyday use.
It delivers good general performance capable of satisfying many users because it is built around a Quad Core i5-1035G1 processor with low consumption Ice Lake and its good amount of 8 GB RAM very useful in multitasking.
This light computer is however not designed for heavy graphics work like games because it does not have a dedicated graphics card. On the other hand, of course, you can watch photos and videos on this silver PC thanks to the (modest) benefits of the Intel UHD 620 solution integrated into the Ice Lake.
In addition, thanks to its SSD storage, this PC is clearly more reactive and fluid on a daily basis than if it were based on a simple hard drive. We thus benefit in particular with the SSD from application launches and much faster starts / stops.
Remember that an SSD is much faster than a hard drive but also more energy efficient, more robust and quieter. The 256 GB offered by the SSD is sufficient for a number of uses but it is a capacity below the standard of hard disks which may be too fair for some.
However, a 2.5 inch slot is available to add a second SSD or a hard drive. And there is always the possibility of using an external storage unit as a USB 3.0 device to take advantage of fast transfers.
As for the autonomy of this computer whose transport is facilitated by the weight under the bar of 2 Kg but which does not however enter the clan of Ultrabooks, bet on about 5 hours of operation on battery in light use.
