Chassis, connectors, screen of the Asus R515FA-BQ100T
It sports a sober and elegant appearance with its thin and light light silver chassis.
Its connectivity is good, composed of 1 USB-C, a convenient HDMI video output to easily connect it to a TV or monitor for example, Wi-Fi ac and Bluetooth 4.1 wireless modules for remote connections and communications, an audio port or 3 USB compatible with both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0, USB 3.0 guarantees transfers up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if you connect a USB 3.0 device to it.
Thanks to its IPS technology, the screen has significant viewing angles, both horizontal and vertical. On the other hand, its colorimetry is average, lower than that of more high-end IPS panels, logically with regard to its positioning. As a bonus, the screen lends itself well to the display of High Definition content such as videos due to its precise Full HD definition higher than the 1366×768 standard and its 16/9th format. As it is anti-reflective, the screen is also more readable than a shiny slab in bright environments (eg outside).
Performance, battery life of the Asus R515FA-BQ100T
The Asus R515FA-BQ100T is a thin and light 15-inch High Definition laptop for everyday use.
In fact the overall performance it provides is able to suit many users as it is built around a low-power Intel Comet Lake Quad Core i5-10210U processor paired with a good amount of 8GB RAM that is very useful for multitasking.
Point of dedicated graphics card here embedded in all logic with regard to the price charged. As a result, this Ultrabook is not suitable for demanding graphics work such as gaming. Nevertheless, thanks to the Intel UHD 620 graphics part housed in the Core i5, you can watch photos and videos.
On the storage side, there is a 512 GB SSD that rivals the standard of hard drives in terms of capacity while being silent, less energy-consuming, more robust and much faster.
Concretely, the SSD guarantees a much better fluidity and responsiveness on a daily basis compared to a simple hard disk. Thanks to the SSD, starts/stops are much faster, as are processing and launching applications.
Of course in case 512 GB is too fair, it is possible to use an external storage unit such as a USB-C/USB 3.0 device to get fast transfers.
As for the autonomy of this Ultrabook whose finesse and weight content facilitate transport, count on about 5 hours of operation on battery in light use.
