Thanks to its IPS technology, the screen has large viewing angles, both horizontally and vertically. In any case, lovers of videos and more generally of High Definition content will appreciate the 16: 9 aspect ratio of the screen and its Full HD definition. Anti-reflective coating, the screen is also more readable than a shiny panel in a bright environment (eg outside).
Performance, battery life of the Asus Vivobook R515JA-BQ450T
The Asus Vivobook R515JA-BQ450T is a 15-inch thin and light High Definition laptop designed for everyday use.
In this field as in office automation and surfing the Internet, this Ultrabook delivers good performance because it is based on a good amount of 8 GB RAM very appreciable in multitasking as well as a low consumption Intel Core i3-1005G1 Tiger Lake processor .
The latter shows its limits under software that consumes processor resources, like other Intel Core i3s, AMD Ryzen 3 and of course less powerful processors.
In any case, thanks to the modest features of the Intel UHD 620 solution integrated into the Core i3 Tiger Lake processor, you can watch photos and videos on this laptop which, however, is not designed for heavy graphics work such as games since it does not embed a dedicated graphics card.
On the storage side, we are dealing with an Intel Optane H10 solution that we tested. It combines a 512 GB SSD part (capacity similar to standard hard drives) with a 32 GB Optane part (which cannot be used for software installation or file storage).
If the contribution of Optane is significant when it is associated with a hard drive, it is not very noticeable when coupled with an SSD.
The fact remains that compared to a simple hard drive, Optane H10 guarantees much better fluidity and responsiveness on a daily basis. This implies, for example, much faster starts / stops and launches of applications.
Of course, if 512 GB is too tight, we can use an external storage unit such as a USB 3.0 / USB-C device to take advantage of fast transfers.
As for battery life, expect about 5 hours of battery operation in light use for this Ultrabook whose weight and thinness facilitate transport.
