Sober with its dark aluminum design, the Asus VivoBook S15 S533EA-BN168T is a versatile Ultrabook with a 15-inch IPS Full HD anti-glare 100% sRGB screen that benefits from a backlit chiclet keyboard and connectivity with Wi-Fi ax and USB-C, but without Thunderbolt. Efficient in everyday use thanks to its good amount of 16 GB RAM and its Intel Tiger Lake Quad Core i7-1165G7 processor whose Iris Xe graphics part is capable of running games that are not too greedy, this thin and light laptop PC sees its responsiveness reinforced by its fast SSD storage with Intel Optane.

Chassis, connectors, screen of the Asus VivoBook S15 S533EA-BN168T
It features a sober and discreet design with its thin and light black / anthracite Indie Black aluminum case.
Rechargeable to 60% in 49 minutes, it is cooled by 2 IceBlades fans (87 thin 0.2mm blades in crystal-liquid polymer). It also has 3 operating modes: Performance (power), Balanced (balanced) and Whisper (silent, economical).
This versatile Ultrabook has good connectivity consisting of 1 USB-C, Wi-Fi ax modules ( newer and more efficient than Wi-Fi ac ) and Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless remote connections and communications, \’\’ a practical HDMI video output for easy connection to a TV or monitor for example, an audio port as well as 3 USBs all compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 3.0, USB 3.0 guaranteeing transfers made up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if a USB 3.0 device is plugged into it.
However, we regret the absence of Thunderbolt 4 while it is natively supported by Tiger Lake processors.
The chiclet keyboard can be backlit which is useful for distinguishing its keys in low ambient light. The yellow clipping of the Enter key brings a touch of originality.
The screen will be of interest to those who wish to obtain faithful colors because it promises to be 100% sRGB and IPS, which also implies significant viewing angles, both horizontal and vertical. The screen is also very suitable for displaying High Definition content such as videos thanks to its precise Full HD definition and its 16: 9 format. As it is anti-reflective, the screen also offers better visibility than a shiny panel in a bright environment (eg outdoors).
Performance, battery life of the Asus VivoBook S15 S533EA-BN168T
The Asus VivoBook S15 S533EA-BN168T is a 15-inch High Definition laptop designed for general-purpose general-purpose use.
It has a good amount of 16 GB RAM which is very appreciable in multitasking. Here it is associated with a low-power Intel Tiger Lake Quad Core i7-1165G7 processor.
These components deliver good overall performance capable of satisfying a number of users. However, if one often wishes to carry out work requiring processor resources, one may prefer to turn to a PC equipped with a non-low consumption processor.
However, this will have an impact on finesse, weight and battery life. In this regard, we can bet on about 7 hours of battery operation in light use.
In any case, although it does not include a dedicated graphics card, this thin and light laptop PC benefits from the services of the Intel Iris Xe solution which are clearly superior to those of the classic Intel UHD 620 .
In concrete terms, you can watch photos and videos with this versatile Ultrabook, but also run games that are not too demanding in terms of graphics resources.
As for storage, the brand opts for an Intel Optane H10 solution (which we tested) . It consists of a 512 GB SSD part and a 32 GB Intel Optane part.
The first can be used for installation and storage unlike the second which has the advantage of ensuring a contribution similar to an SSD, which makes Optane particularly interesting when it is coupled to a hard disk, but not very significant associated to an SSD.
In any case, the Optane H10 solution guarantees performance equivalent to an SSD. This implies a clearly reinforced reactivity on a daily basis compared to a simple hard drive.
Thus, thanks to the SSD, we benefit, for example, from much faster processing as well as starting / stopping and launching of applications, or even a faster arrival on the cards of online games.
Here we find a 512 GB SSD, a capacity in phase with the standard of hard disks.
If you need more space, you can obviously use an external storage unit. Favoring a USB-C / USB 3.0 device then represents an interesting option for obtaining fast transfers.
Finally, thanks to its controlled weight, compactness and finesse, this elegant versatile aluminum Ultrabook is quite easy to carry.
