Thin and light, the versatile Asus VivoBook S15 S533EA-BQ078T Ultrabook with 15-inch Full HD IPS anti-glare screen takes advantage of a good amount of 16 GB RAM and an Intel Tiger Lake Quad Core i7-1165G7 processor with graphics solution Iris Xe. It thus proves to be efficient in current use and capable of supporting games that are not too demanding. This anthracite black laptop is also equipped with fast SSD storage with Intel Optane for enhanced responsiveness as well as a backlit chiclet keyboard and connectivity with Wi-Fi ax and USB-C, but no Thunderbolt 4 .

Chassis, connectors, screen of Asus VivoBook S15 S533EA-BQ078T
Its fine and light Indie Black black / anthracite aluminum chassis gives it a sober look while it is cooled by 2 IceBlades fans (87 thin 0.2mm blades in crystal-liquid polymer). It can be recharged to 60% in 49 minutes and offers 3 operating modes: Performance (power), Balanced (balanced) and Whisper (quiet, economical).
The connectivity integrated into this versatile Ultrabook is good, including 1 USB 3.1 Type-C, Wi-Fi ax modules ( more recent and efficient than Wi-Fi ac ) and Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless remote connections and communications, a useful HDMI video output for easy connection to a TV or monitor for example, an audio port but also 3 USBs all compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 3.0, USB 3.0 guaranteeing transfers up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if you plug in a USB 3.0 device. Too bad, however, that Asus does not fully exploit the possibilities that Tiger Lake offers in terms of connectivity, because the presence of Thunderbolt 4 would have been justified with regard to the positioning of this PC.
In all cases of course, the keys of the chiclet keyboard can be backlit, which is very practical for distinguishing its keys when the ambient light is reduced. To bring a touch of originality, the Enter key is outlined in yellow.
Thanks to its IPS technology, the screen has large viewing angles, both vertical and horizontal. However, we regret that its colorimetry is average, lower than that offered by more high-end IPS panels. With its precise Full HD definition and 16: 9 aspect ratio, the screen lends itself well to displaying High Definition content such as videos. Its anti-reflective treatment makes it more readable than a shiny panel in a bright environment (eg outdoors).
Performance, battery life of Asus VivoBook S15 S533EA-BQ078T
The Asus VivoBook S15 S533EA-BQ078T is a lightweight 15-inch High Definition laptop designed for general-purpose general-purpose use.
It delivers good overall performance that can satisfy many users because it takes advantage of a good amount of 16 GB RAM and a low power Intel Tiger Lake Quad Core i7-1165G7 processor.
This integrates the Intel Iris Xe graphics solution that we tested .
It has the advantage of being significantly more efficient than the Intel UHD 620 standard.
As a result with this versatile Ultrabook, although it does not have a dedicated graphics card, you can watch photos and videos but also play titles that are not too greedy in 3D resources.
However, for those who often wish to carry out heavy processing in terms of processor and / or graphics resources, opting for a PC equipped with a non-low consumption processor and / or an adequate dedicated graphics card represents a more interesting solution.
On the storage side, Asus has chosen to integrate the Intel Optane H10 solution tested by us . It combines a 512 GB SSD (capacity similar to standard hard drives) with a 32 GB Intel Optane part.
If the contribution of Optane is important when it backs up a hard drive, it is not very significant associated with an SSD.
The fact remains that the Intel Optane H10 offers the same qualities as an SSD, namely much smoother and more responsive operation on a daily basis than a simple hard drive.
In practice, thanks to the SSD, the launches of applications / games are much faster, as are the processing and start-ups / shutdowns, and we get faster on the cards of online games.
However, the total capacity of 512 GB offered may be too tight for some. But you can always rely on an external storage unit such as a USB 3.0 / USB-C device to benefit from fast transfers.
As for the autonomy of this versatile Ultrabook whose compactness, finesse and lightness make it easy to transport, expect around 7 hours of battery operation in light use.
