Chassis, connectors, screen of the Asus Vivobook S413FA-EK672T
With its Clear Silver hinge Transparent Silver ErgoLift hinge that raises it slightly forward when opened, it sports a sober and elegant design.
This Ultrabook has a good connection consisting of 1 USB 3.1 Type-C, Wi-Fi ac and Bluetooth 4.1 wireless modules for remote connections and communications, an audio port, an HDMI video output practical in order to easily connect it to a TV or a monitor for example or 3 USB all compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 3.0, USB 3.0 guaranteeing transfers up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if you connects a USB 3.0 device to it.
In addition this thin and light computer benefits from a numeric keypad while it is absent from the 14 inches for lack of space. How? ‘Or’ What ? Thanks to Asus’ NumberPad functionality: depending on requirements, you can use the touchpad as a classic touchpad or as a numeric touchpad (NumPad).
The screen lends itself well to displaying High Definition content and in particular videos due to its precise Full HD definition and 16: 9 format. As it is anti-reflective, it is more readable than a glossy panel in a light environment (ex: outdoor).
Performance, battery life of the Asus Vivobook S413FA-EK672T
The Asus Vivobook S413FA-EK672T is a compact High Definition laptop designed for everyday use.
In this area, as in office automation and surfing on the Internet, this Ultrabook delivers good benefits because it is structured around a good amount of 8 GB RAM very useful in multitasking and a low consumption Comet Lake processor Core i3- 10110U Turbo.
As a reminder, the Core i3 Turbo are significantly more efficient than the Core i3 non Turbo (Core i3-7xxxU and predecessors). However, it should be borne in mind that a Core i3 shows its limits under software that consumes processor resources.
The Core i3 Comet Lake has the advantage here of being backed up by SSD storage. It guarantees a much better fluidity and reactivity on a daily basis than a hard disk, which results in particular in launching of applications and much faster starts / stops.
An SSD is indeed much faster than a hard drive but also less energy-consuming, more shock-resistant and quieter.
Here we find more precisely a 256 GB SSD coupled to a 16 GB Optane part, and this in the form of an Intel Optane H10 module that we tested . If Optane offers an undeniable contribution when coupled to a hard drive, the difference in performance made by Optane when associated with an SSD is small.
Certainly, 256 GB is sufficient for a number of uses, but this may be too fair for some. In this case, you can always use an external storage unit like a USB 3.0 device to obtain fast transfers.
As it does not carry a dedicated graphics card, this Ultrabook is not designed for games and more generally demanding graphic work. However, it obviously allows you to view photos and videos thanks to the Intel UHD 620 part mode integrated into the Core i3.
As for the autonomy of this computer, which is easy to transport thanks to its compactness, finesse and lightness, expect around 5 hours of battery operation in light use.
