Chassis, connectors, screen of the Asus VivoBook S513EA-BQ516T
It sports a design that is both original and discreet with its thin and light dark blue frame.
This versatile Ultrabook is equipped with good connectivity including 1 USB-C, Wi-Fi ax modules ( more recent and efficient than Wi-Fi ac ) and Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless remote connections and communications, an output practical HDMI video for easy connection to a TV or monitor for example, an audio port as well as 3 USBs all compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 3.0, USB 3.0 guaranteeing transfers up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if a USB 3.0 device is plugged into it.
The keyboard sees its Enter key cut out in yellow which is original. It can be backlit which is very practical to better distinguish its keys in the event of reduced ambient light.
Thanks to its IPS technology, the screen has large horizontal and vertical viewing angles. It also lends itself very well to the display of High Definition content such as videos thanks to its precise Full HD definition and its 16: 9 format. Anti-reflective coating, the screen is also more readable in a bright environment (eg outdoors) than a shiny panel. The colorimetry of the screen is however average, lower than that of more high-end IPS panels.
Performance, battery life of the Asus VivoBook S513EA-BQ516T
The Asus VivoBook S513EA-BQ516T is a thin and light 15-inch High Definition laptop designed for everyday general-purpose use.
As easily transportable as an Ultrabook thanks to its thinness and lightness, can last about 6 hours on battery in light use.
However, it delivers good overall performance that is suitable for many users because it relies on a good amount of 8 GB RAM associated with a low power Intel Tiger Lake i5-1135G7 Quad Core processor.
In addition, the latter allows you to watch photos and videos but also to play titles not too greedy in graphic resources thanks to the Intel Iris Xe tested by us , graphics part whose performance is superior to those of the classic Intel UHD 620.
As for storage, Asus opts here for a 512 GB SSD, a capacity that meets the standard for hard drives. But compared to the latter, an SSD has several advantages: it is silent, more robust, less energy-consuming and much faster.
Result thanks to the SSD, we obtain much faster starts / stops as well as the processing and launching of software, or even a faster arrival on the cards of online games.
More generally, the SSD clearly reinforces the fluidity and responsiveness on a daily basis compared to a simple hard drive.
Of course, if you need additional space, you can use an external storage unit. Favoring a USB-C / USB 3.0 device then represents an interesting option to benefit from fast transfers.
