Sober, light, with a lot of responsiveness, the Asus VivoBook S533UA-BQ022T is a 15-inch ultrabook that has all of the everyday multimedia partner. It weighs only 1.8 kg on the scale and brings together a Ryzen 7 Octo Core (Lucienne, 2021), a good amount of RAM (16 GB) and fast SSD storage (1 TB) to surf at full speed. Its borderless Full HD IPS screen adds a plus for moviegoers while the backlit keyboard will be of great help when working in the dark. On the other hand, there is no biometric authentication (Windows Hello) and the box will require some precautions when traveling.

Chassis, connectors, screen of the Asus VivoBook S533UA-BQ022T
The Asus VivoBook S533UA-BQ022T takes many of the lines of its predecessor (VivoBook S532) but Asus makes some very sensitive adjustments to limping while maintaining a colorful aesthetic (on some models). Here, the look goes everywhere with its black back and gray base, the only touch of color being limited to the Enter key underlined in yellow . The all-metal chassis still reveals a distinct and angular silhouette, a visible bias, particularly at the level of the ErgoLift hinge, which is refined. Now crossed on the majority of Asus PCs, this hinge has the particularity of tilting the base up to 3.5 degrees depending on the opening of the cover in order to optimize typing comfort while contributing to better air circulation below the chassis.
The keyboard takes advantage of a numeric keypad and a backlighting system (white) to highlight the silver keys in the dark and we observe that Asus has added an outline and yellow lettering to the key Entrance.
Measurements are another point on which Asus has revamped its VivoBook. If its weight (1.8 kg) and its size do not move, its thickness of 1.6 cm loses 2 mm.
For its part, the screen benefits from an appreciable borderless frame for immersion, added to an IPS panel which opens up the viewing angles. Perfect for moviegoers, the Full HD definition (1920 x 1080 px) provides a healthy display density for viewing High Definition content in the best conditions, while the matt treatment of the panel acts as a barrier to reflections associated with a use in strong ambient light. A plus for comfort.
On the sides of the chassis, the composition of the connections is satisfactory even if two USB ports are still limited to the 2.0 standard. In addition, there is an HDMI output, a microSD card reader and two other USB ports including a USB 3.2 and a USB 3.2 Type-C . For wireless connectivity, we have Wifi 5 ac and Bluetooth 4.1.
Performance, autonomy of the Asus VivoBook S533UA-BQ022T
The VivoBook S533UA-BQ022T packs a state-of-the-art processor, the AMD Ryzen Lucienne (2021) Ryzen 7 5700U Octo Corelow consumption. This shows a nice increase in performance compared to the Ryzen 7 3700U (2019), thanks in particular to the number of cores which doubles but also to the finer engraving used. It is also significantly more efficient than its predecessor of 2020 (Ryzen 7 4700U) but more noticeably. For all common office-type uses, it is perfectly at ease as an Intel Core i7-1165G7 (2021) would be, but the difference emerges more visibly on tasks that consume CPU resources that can take advantage of all cores such as content creation (editing, rendering, modeling …). Namely that we remain on low consumption (TDP 15W), so do not expect from this processor the same resources as an Octo Core-H (Ryzen 7 4800H) which,
Opposite, the RAM provides for 16 GB of RAM , an important total for multitasking which allows the coming years to come with confidence.
The Asus ultrabook is not intended to play but the Radeon Vega 8integrated into the processor is not against some occasional parts. At the level of an NVIDIA GeForce MX330, its capacities are more than enough for everyday work and the tasks listed above and even allow some games from time to time on games that are not very demanding graphically. Most will require you to make some concessions on screen definition and / or details however. Especially since the processor is forced to make some concessions on its power in this case (reduced TDP), due to the compactness of the chassis. By this mean that you will not be able to take full advantage of the potential of the components but that the whole will still allow you to play and create in good conditions, a bargain already for the price.
Also hinge in this configuration, the storage is entrusted to a dedicated 1 TB SSD , a generous capacity even more commonly lent to hard drives and which allows large multimedia files to be stored without restrictions. The system gains there directly compared to a configuration with mechanical hard disk because of the speed of loading offered by the SSD. This type of storage ensures almost instantaneous switching on and off, transfers calculated in seconds or instantaneous software launches where the mechanical support involved significant latencies. Note also that the SSD is by nature more silent, robust and efficient than a hard drive.
As for autonomy, the VivoBook S533UA-BQ022T is in the small average. Its battery offers a capacity of 42 Whr, which should leave it around 6 hours of autonomy in web browsing with active Wifi.
