Chassis, connectors, screen of the Asus Vivobook X712FA-AU494T
It sports a design that is elegant, discreet and original with its thin, light silver chassis (for a 17 inch) Transparent Silver with ErgoLift hinge which raises it slightly forward when opened.
Thanks to its IPS technology, the screen has significant vertical and horizontal viewing angles. It lends itself well to the display of High Definition content and particularly to videos because of its precise Full HD definition and its 16: 9 format. As it is anti-reflective, the screen is also more readable in a bright environment (eg outside) than a glossy screen.
In terms of connectivity, this computer is well equipped with its USB 3.1 Type-C, its Wi-Fi ac and Bluetooth 4.1 wireless modules for remote connections and communications, its useful HDMI video output in order to easily connect it to a TV or a monitor for example, its audio port as well as its 3 USB all compatible with both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0, USB 3.0 guaranteeing transfers taking place up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if the \’\’ we connect a USB 3.0 device.
Performance, battery life of the Asus Vivobook X712FA-AU494T
The Asus Vivobook X712FA-AU494T is a relatively thin and light large format laptop designed for everyday use.
In this area, as in office automation and surfing on the Internet, it delivers good services because it is structured around a good amount of 8 GB RAM very appreciable in multitasking but also of a low consumption Core i3-8145U Turbo processor Whiskey Lake. Remember that the Core i3 Turbo is significantly better than the Core i3 non Turbo (Core i3-7xxxU and lower).
This computer is very responsive on a daily basis thanks to its SSD storage much faster than a hard drive but also less energy-consuming, more robust and silent.
Thanks to the SSD, this PC is much more fluid in use than if it were based on a simple hard disk, which implies for example start / stop and launch of software much faster.
It is a 256 GB SSD that more precisely embeds this elegant silver computer. This capacity is sufficient for a number of uses and nevertheless less than the standard for hard disks.
If this proves to be too fair, there is of course the possibility of using an external storage unit. Opting for a USB 3.0 device is therefore an interesting solution for obtaining fast transfers.
You can also add a second SSD or hard drive to this PC via the free 2.5-inch slot.
In terms of graphics processing, the Intel UHD 620 part integrated into the Core i3 Turbo is used. Modest, it of course allows you to view photos and videos. However, since it does not come with a dedicated graphics card, this computer is not designed for demanding graphic work such as games.
As for autonomy, bet on about 4 hours of battery operation in light use for this PC whose finesse and controlled weight facilitate transport for a 17 inch, comfortable format which is intended mainly for sedentary use (ex: at the House).
