Rechargeable to 50% in 45 minutes, this versatile laptop with a thin and light Natural Silver design has a sleek and discreet look.
This laptop integrates good connectivity including a useful HDMI video output to easily connect it to a TV for example, Wi-Fi 6E ax and Bluetooth 5.3 wireless modules for remote connections and communications, an audio port, 1 USB-C or 3 USBs including 2 USB 3.0 (USB 2.0 compatible) guaranteeing transfers up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if you connect USB 3.0 devices.
We appreciate being able to preserve privacy by hiding the webcam behind a shutter when not in use.
Thanks to its anti-glare coating, the screen offers better visibility in bright environments (e.g. outdoors) than a glossy panel.
In addition, it is suitable for Full HD content and especially videos due to its 16:9 aspect ratio, while its viewing angles, both horizontal and vertical, are important thanks to its IPS technology. It’s a shame that this one isn’t top-of-the-range because we would have benefited from a more faithful colorimetry than average.
HP 15-fd0068nf performance, battery life
The HP 15-fd0068nf is a sleek 15-inch laptop for everyday on-the-go versatile use.
Those who don’t need a long battery life and are looking for a discreet student laptop with a numeric keypad may be interested since its battery life is around 7 hours on battery in light use.
However, it delivers very good performance in everyday use, including watching photos and videos or playing modest games.
Because it is driven by a low-power Intel Raptor Lake Core i5-1334U processor with 10 hybrid cores and integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics.
The Core i5-1334U is paired with 16GB of RAM. It is therefore possible to carry out small multimedia processing taking advantage of multi-core and RAM, such as light video encoding or photo editing.
On the storage side, HP obviously opts for an SSD, here with a capacity of 512 GB equivalent to what many models on the market offer but also to the standard of hard drives. Compared to the latter, an SSD is more robust, less power-consuming, quieter and much faster.
As a result, fluidity and responsiveness are much better with an SSD than with an HDD.
Thanks to the SSD, start-ups/shutdowns are much faster, for example, as are processing and launching applications, and you can get to online game maps faster.
