Compact and fairly light, the HP 15s-eq0005nf is an attractive option for office enthusiasts looking for mobility on a limited budget. A recent AMD Athlon 300U is at the controls, supported by SSD storage for system responsiveness while providing a little space. The whole is dominated by a mat screen with fine edges and the white design is elegant and goes everywhere. On the other hand, watch out for the plastic housing which is not very robust when traveling and the RAM is a bit limited (4 GB).

Chassis, connectors, screen of the HP 15s-eq0005nf
If it does not radically change the codes present on entry level HP laptops, the design of the HP 15s-eq0005nf takes the right turns. With its neat white chassis (snowflake according to HP), it is not without approaching the ranges above, Pavilion or Envy. The aesthetics are very simple with smooth and matt surfaces awakened only by the chrome HP logo on the back of the cover. The interior is embellished with a brushed effect. The chassis is plastic, so be careful when traveling.
Good point at this level, the keyboard is backlit and has a numeric keypad.
It is in terms of format that we see the efforts made by HP. With 1.7 kg on the scale for this model without hard drive and 17.9 mm thick , the PC displays the measurements of an ultrabook and will not be against some trips.
We then continue on the screen, not very well endowed here. It is content with an HD definition (1366 x 768 px) with an average maximum brightness (220 nits) and is based on a TN panel with narrow viewing angles and medium colorimetry. The only positive side comes from its anti-reflective treatment which improves the readability of the image in high ambient light.
For its part, the connection receives all the standard at this level with the presence of two standard size USB 3.1 ports, a USB Type-C port , an HDMI output, a multi-format SD card reader and a headphone jack. The fairly recent versions of the Wifi AC and Bluetooth 4.2 modules are also on the menu as well as an RJ45 (Gigabit Ethernet) port.
Performance, autonomy of the HP 15s-eq0005nf
Strong point for the reactivity, the storage is entrusted to an M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD of 256 GB , allowing to bring its share of fluidity to Windows 10 and to the global execution of the programs, knowing that it is paid at the level of the capacity. If you count the space occupied by the system and by the programs, there is only about 200 GB of free space, enough to accommodate a small part of your toy library. For the rest, you will have to opt for an external or online solution.
At the heart of the laptop, we are dealing with a recent AMD Athlon 300U APU low consumption. It is positioned at the level of a Ryzen 3 3200U and thus does the job perfectly for surfing the web, playing videos or doing spreadsheets and even a little photo editing on occasion. On the other hand, multitasking will be limited due to the amount of 4 GB RAM , a little limited for current standards.
Let’s finish with the autonomy which must do with a small battery of 41Whr. Understand that mobility will therefore be somewhat hampered with 5 to 6 hours at best in web browsing with active Wifi.
