Compact and housed in a sleek silver chassis, the HP 15s-fq2001nf makes an attractive affordable office option. An 11th gen Core i5 Quad Core (late 2020) with integrated Iris Xe graphics chip is in control to meet the needs of most users for everyday tasks, backed up by 8 GB of RAM and SSD storage of good capacity (512 GB SSD) for system speed while providing sufficient storage space. The whole is dominated by a mat Full HD screen with refined side edges and the connection is correct. On the other hand, beware of the not very robust plastic case when traveling with battery life does not exceed 6 hours.

Chassis, connectors, screen of the HP 15s-fq2001nf
The design of the HP 15s-fq2001nf opts for a sober silver aesthetic that comes out of the black and gray PCs which mainly occupy the market. The surfaces are smooth and mat on the outside, awakened only by the chrome HP logo on the back of the cover. The interior is embellished with a brushed effect. The chassis is made of plastic, so be careful when traveling.
Unsurprisingly, the keyboard is not backlit on this model but has a numeric keypad, useful if you enter a series of numbers in a spreadsheet for example.
It is in the format that we can see the efforts made by HP. With 1.65 kg on the scale for this model without hard disk and 17.9 mm thick , the PC displays the measurements of an ultrabook and will not be against a few trips.
Video enthusiasts will be able to take advantage of the Full HD screen (1920 x 1080 px) which will deploy a high display density to make the most of your High Definition content while the anti-reflective treatment is there to ensure good visibility on the screen in strong ambient light. Watching movies and other videos will be all the more comfortable. However, we are dealing with a TN panel which will limit the approach angles.
For its part, the connection receives all the standard at this level with the presence of two USB 3.1 ports of standard size, a USB Type-C port , an HDMI output, a multi-format SD card reader and ‘a headphone jack. Wifi AC and Bluetooth 4.2 modules are also on the menu. It is not the most recent but it is still very widespread. There is no biometric authentication option (Windows Hello).
Performance, battery life of the HP 15s-fq2001nf
To animate this HP 15s-fq2001nf, we have a Core i5-1135G7 processor11th generation Tiger Lake. This processor brings some interesting advancements over previous generations, starting with a higher TDP. Thus, the Core i5-1135G7 from our HP has a TDP of 28W where its predecessors, the Core i5-1035G4 and the Core i5-10210U are satisfied with a TDP of 15W. This leads to a fairly visible increase in performance on advanced software (Lightroom, Capture One Pro, Davinci Resolve, 7Zip, etc.), a little less on basic everyday tasks (Office, surfing the Web, streaming …) . We understand, these tasks in question are perfectly taken care of by the ultrabook, but since these are missions that only commit very few resources, the difference between the generations is not noticeable. And then keep in mind that we still have a low consumption Core i5 in front of us, so there is nothing to provide intensive performance in creation as would non-low consumption processors (-H). In front,8 GB RAM is the minimum currently for multitasking, knowing that the RAM is soldered so take your needs into account.
More interesting still, the new integrated graphics chip Iris Xe allows Intel to come back in the race against AMD but also and especially against small NVIDIA graphics cards like the GeForce MX250 or the GeForce MX350. The performances of the Iris Plus G7 of the Gen10 (Ice Lake) are exceeded by a good length. So, with the Iris Xe, you should be able to play many games at 1080p under good conditions and work on fairly graphics-intensive tasks (Lightroom) without delay. Another benefit of having a faster graphics chip integrated into the processor is that it simplifies the design of the ventilation system and therefore causes less noise and heat than in a configuration with a dedicated graphics card.
The storage is for its part entrusted to a 512 GB NVMe PCIe SSD which will significantly enhance the overall responsiveness of the system on a daily basis compared to a configuration with a mechanical hard drive. Based on a PCIe interface faster than SATA3, the SSD ensures shortened load times, almost instantaneous Windows launch and very fast file copies, not to mention the qualities in terms of energy savings, durability and silence of the SSD. Not to spoil anything, its capacity is not ridiculous and can accommodate a good part of your game library.
Let’s finish with the battery life that must deal with a small battery of 41Whr. Understand that mobility will therefore be a little hampered with 5 to 6 hours at best of web browsing with active Wifi.
