Chassis, connectors, screen of the HP 17-cn0349nf
All dressed in black, it has a discreet look, especially since its chassis is thin and relatively light.
In terms of connectivity, this versatile laptop is well equipped with its USB-C, its HDMI video output useful to easily connect it to a monitor or TV for example, its Wi-Fi ac and Bluetooth 4.2 wireless modules for remote connections and communications, its audio and Ethernet ports or its 3 USB, USB 3.0 (USB 2.0 compatible) guaranteeing transfers up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if usb 3.0 devices are connected to it.
The screen adopts a definition of 1600×900 coupled with a 16/9th format suitable for playing videos, classic specifications for a 17-inch which is logical with regard to the positioning of this PC. We appreciate that it is adorned with a glossy anti-reflective treatment making it less tiring for the eyes in prolonged use than a shiny slab and more readable in bright environments (eg exterior).
Performance, battery life of the HP 17-cn0349nf
The HP 17-cn0349nf is a relatively thin and lightweight large format laptop for everyday versatile use.
It benefits from an SSD storage of 512 GB, capacity rivaling what hard drives offer as standard, which is appreciable given the positioning of this computer.
And especially since an SSD has several advantages compared to a hard disk: greater robustness, lower power consumption, silence of operation and greater velocity.
As a result, the SSD ensures much better fluidity and responsiveness on a daily basis than a simple hard drive. Thanks to the SSD, starts/stops are much faster, for example, as are application launches.
The SSD therefore supports the heart of this large format laptop consisting of 4 GB of standard RAM and a low-power Intel Tiger Lake Core i3-1115G4 processor.
This core delivers good performance in everyday use, such as office automation and Internet surfing. But it shows its limits in multitasking as well as under CPU-intensive software, like models based on an AMD Ryzen 3 processor (and less powerful processor obviously).
Some will appreciate being able to play light titles in addition to watching photos and videos thanks to this Ultrabook while it does not include a dedicated graphics card.
How is that possible? Because the Intel UHD G4 solution is housed in the Core i3-1115G4 and is more powerful than a classic integrated graphics part.
Of course if the 512 GB provided by the SSD turns out to be too fair, we can use an external storage unit such as a USB-C / USB 3.0 device to enjoy fast transfers.
As for the autonomy of this relatively thin and light computer for a 17-inch, bet on about 7 hours on battery in light use. This large format is certainly not the most easily transportable but is nevertheless comfortable for a mostly sedentary use (eg at home).
