Chassis, connectors, screen of the HP 17-cn0559nf
With its relatively thin and light black design, this laptop sports a sober look.
This versatile laptop has a good connectivity consisting of 1 USB-C, an audio port, Wi-Fi ac and Bluetooth 5.0 wireless modules for remote connections and communications, a convenient HDMI video output to easily connect it to a monitor or TV for example but also 3 USB, USB 3.0 (USB 2.0 compatible) guaranteeing transfers made up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if USB 3.0 devices are plugged into it.
As it is treated anti-reflective, the screen is also less tiring for the eyes in prolonbé use than a shiny slab and more readable in bright environments (eg exterior). It also displays more faithful colors than the average without however offering a colorimetry as faithful as high-end IPS or OLED. For the rest, the screen adopts classic features for a 17-inch at this price level, namely a 16/9th format that lends itself well to video playback associated with a definition of 1600×900.
Performance, battery life of the HP 17-cn0559nf
The HP 17-cn0559nf is a relatively thin and lightweight 17-inch laptop for everyday versatile use.
It benefits from a Low-power Quad Core Intel Tiger Lake processor, the Core i3-1125G4 which delivers good performance in common use as well as in Surfing the Internet and office automation as well as under the not too greedy software exploiting the multi-core, especially since it is coupled with a good amount of RAM of 8 GB.
In addition, the Intel UHD G4 graphics solution integrated into the Quad Core i3 allows you to watch photos and videos but also to play light titles. And this even though no dedicated graphics card is embedded.
On the storage side, there is a silent SSD but also less energy consuming than a hard disk, more robust and much faster. In practice thanks to the SSD, the starts/stops, processing and launches of software are much faster, and we reach faster on the housings of online games.
More generally, the SSD ensures a much better responsiveness and fluidity on a daily basis than a simple hard disk. With its 512 GB, the SSD here integrated rivals the standard of hard drives in terms of capacity, enough to house a lot of files and software.
But of course in case we need more space, we can use an external storage unit. Opting for USB-C/USB 3.0 device is then an interesting solution to benefit from fast transfers.
As for the autonomy, count on about 7 hours on battery in light use for this relatively thin and light computer for a 17-inch. If this large format is clearly not the most easily transportable, it still offers the advantage of being comfortable for mainly sedentary use (eg at home).
