Chassis, connectors, screen of the HP 17-cn2084nf
With its thin and light Natural Silver design, it sports a sober and elegant appearance.
This versatile laptop is properly equipped in terms of connectivity with its USB-C, bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi ac wireless modules to communicate and connect remotely, its convenient HDMI video output to easily connect it to a monitor or TV for example, its Ethernet and audio ports as well as its 2 USB 3.0 (USB 2.0 compatible) guaranteeing transfers made up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if peripherals USB 3.0 are plugged into it.
What a pity, however, not to find a newer and more powerful Wi-Fi ax module or a keyboard backlight solution to better distinguish its keys in case of reduced ambient light.
The screen lends itself well to the display of High Definition content in all cases as videos because it adopts a Full HD definition associated with a 16/9th format. As it is anti-reflective, the screen is also more restful for the eyes in prolonged use and more readable in bright environments (eg outdoors). The display also has significant vertical and horizontal viewing angles thanks to its IPS technology. But it is not high-end because here the colorimetry is classic.
Performance, battery life of the HP 17-cn2084nf
The HP 17-cn2084nf is a relatively thin and lightweight 17-inch laptop intended for everyday versatile use.
Many users will be satisfied with the overall performance delivered by this stylish silver laptop as it is built around 16GB of RAM and a low-power Intel Alder Lake-U Core i5-1235U.
This core can be suitable for those who perform modest multimedia work taking advantage of RAM and multi-core (and therefore the 10 hybrid cores of the Core i5), such as in photo editing or video encoding.
On the other hand, we benefit from opting for a PC with a non-low-power processor and / or an adequate dedicated graphics card if we plan to often perform work requiring processor and / or graphics resources.
Dedicated graphics card point here embedded indeed. All the graphics are therefore managed by the Intel Iris Xe solution integrated into the Core i5 Alder Lake-U, enough to watch photos and videos but also play modest titles.
The storage is here entrusted to an SSD that rivals hard drives in terms of capacity with its 512 GB while being less energy-consuming, more robust, quiet and much faster.
In practice, the SSD clearly reinforces the responsiveness and fluidity on a daily basis compared to a simple hard disk, which implies in particular much faster starts/stops as well as the processing and launches of applications, or a faster arrival on the cards of online games.
Of course in case you need more space, you can use an external storage unit. Opting for a USB-C/USB 3.0 device is then an interesting solution to benefit from fast transfers.
As for the autonomy, bet on about 7 hours of operation on battery in light use for this versatile mobile computer whose large format is particularly comfortable for a mostly sedentary use (eg at home). By nature a 17-inch is not the most easily transportable but those who have to lug it around will appreciate its finesse and controlled weight.
