Chassis, connectors, screen of the HP Pavilion 13-bb0016nf
With its natural silver aluminum casing, sandblasted cover and keyboard frame, glossy base finish, this Ultrabook has an elegant and discreet look.
Thin and light, this ultraportable has a good connection made up of 1 USB-C, Wi-Fi ax wireless modules ( more recent and powerful than Wi-Fi ac ) and Bluetooth 5.0 to connect and communicate to distance, a headphone / microphone combo audio port, a practical HDMI video output for easy connection to a TV or monitor for example, but also 2 USB 3.0 (USB 2.0 compatible) guaranteeing transfers up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if USB 3.0 peripherals are plugged in.
Too bad, however, that HP does not exploit native Thunderbolt 4 support here.
The chiclet keyboard can obviously be backlit, which is very practical for distinguishing its keys in the event of reduced ambient light.
The screen adopts a precise Full HD definition and a 16 / 9th format, which makes it well suited to the display of High Definition content such as videos. Thanks to its IPS technology, the screen has significant viewing angles, both horizontally and vertically. However, here the colorimetry is average, lower than that of more high-end IPS panels. Strangely, the screen is brilliant. As a result, it gives punch to the colors but is sensitive to reflections in a bright environment (eg outside) while we expect anti-reflective for a PC that wants to be nomadic.
Performance, battery life of the HP Pavilion 13-bb0016nf
The HP Envy 13-ba1025nf is a compact laptop computer designed for everyday versatile use on the go.
Easy to transport thanks to its lightness, compactness and finesse, this Ultrabook can last about 7 hours on battery in light use in terms of battery life.
It must be said that this elegant silver ultraportable is based on energy-efficient components like its low-power Tiger Lake Quad Core i7-1165G7 processor. Here it is associated with a good amount of 16 GB RAM.
Thus, we benefit from good general performance capable of satisfying many users. But not those who often want to do CPU intensive work. Because in this case, it will be better to turn to a PC with a non-low consumption processor.
In any case, you can run games that are not too greedy in graphics resources on this thin and light laptop PC. And this while it does not embed a dedicated graphics card.
Because the Intel Iris Xe graphics part that we tested , and which is integrated into the Core i7 Tiger Lake, is significantly more efficient than the traditional Intel UHD 620.
With the Iris Xe, you can obviously also watch photos and videos which integrates SSD storage. This clearly reinforces the responsiveness and fluidity on a daily basis compared to a hard drive.
Because an SSD is silent but also more robust, less energy-consuming and much faster.
Result thanks to the SSD, we take advantage of software launches much faster than with a hard drive as well as start / stop and processing, or even a faster arrival on the cards of online games.
With its 512 GB, the SSD offers a capacity similar to the standard of hard drives. But if you need more space, you can use an external storage unit. Opting for a USB 3.0 / USB-C device then represents an interesting solution to obtain fast transfers.
