HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec1018nf chassis, connectors, display
Rechargeable to 50% in 45 minutes, this laptop sports a gamer look with its design Logo celestial black and chrome green finish paint with angular lines.
It is equipped with a good connectivity composed of 1 USB 3.1 Type-C, a convenient HDMI video output to easily connect it to a TV or monitor for example, Wi-Fi ac and Bluetooth 5.0 modules for wireless connections and remote communications, Ethernet and audio ports but also 3 USB 3.0 (USB 2.0 compatible) guaranteeing transfers made up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if USB 3.0 devices are plugged into it.
Too bad however not to find Wi-Fi ax more recent and powerful.
In any case, many will appreciate being able to backlight the keys of the chiclet keyboard to better distinguish them in case of reduced ambient light.
Fans of High Definition content such as videos will appreciate that the screen adopts a precise Full HD definition associated with a 16/9th format. In addition, thanks to its anti-reflective treatment, the screen is more readable in bright environments (e.g. outside) than a shiny slab.
HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec1018nf Performance, Battery Life
The HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec1018nf is a versatile 15-inch high-performance gaming and creative laptop.
It incorporates 8 GB of RAM as well as an AMD Quad Core APU (Accelerated Processing Unit) Ryzen 5 4600H Renoir processor to provide solid overall performance able to satisfy many users.
The Ryzen 5 Hexa Core offers the advantage of ensuring faster processing than a Quad Core processor. The difference is particularly noticeable in CPU-intensive areas that take advantage of multi-core architecture, such as photo editing or video editing, which will be of interest to creators.
And all the more so since this versatile multimedia laptop features the GeForce GTX 1650 Ti, a dedicated NVIDIA Turing graphics card that accelerates processing under software exploiting GPU computing power such as Sony Vegas or Adobe Photoshop/Premiere.
The GeForce GTX 1650 Ti will also be of interest to gamers. It is certainly not the most powerful mobile GPU there is but with concessions, it is able to run many games.
NVIDIA Optimus technology activates the GeForce GTX 1650 Ti when the AMD Radeon Vega 6 solution housed in the Renoir Hexa Core Ryzen 5 is insufficient to perform the required tasks.
The Radeon Vega 6 is preferred as long as it can because it is energy efficient which promotes autonomy.
The GeForce GTX 1650 Ti is therefore activated to carry out graphic work deemed too heavy for the Vega 6, for example to play. With either of these graphics solutions, it is obviously possible to watch photos and videos.
As for storage, there is an SSD that rivals the standard of hard drives in terms of capacity with its 512 GB. As a bonus compared to hard drives, an SSD offers several advantages: greater robustness, lower power consumption, silence of operation or even greater velocity.
In practice, the SSD guarantees a much better fluidity and responsiveness than a simple hard disk. Thanks to the SSD, we benefit for example from much faster starts/stops, processing and software launches or a faster arrival on the maps of online games.
Of course in the event that 512 GB is too fair, we can use an external storage unit such as a USB-C / USB 3.0 device to benefit from fast transfers.
As for the autonomy, it is around 7 hours on battery in light use, which is all the more appreciable as this computer sees its transport facilitated by its weight contained below the bar of 2 Kg.
Keep in mind that this versatile laptop oriented game and creation is heard and heats up when it is strongly pushed (eg: treatments, games), but it remains mastered for this type of PC.
