The MSI GE73 Raider RGB may be of interest to those looking for a versatile, high-performance, large-format, games-oriented notebook.
It is indeed able to run the most recent games and greedy in graphics resources with its dedicated dedicated high-end GeForce GTX 1060 version 6 GB dedicated.
Depending on the needs, the embedded NVIDIA Optimus technology uses either the GTX 1060 or Intel UHD 630 housed in the processor and gives maximum priority to the latter despite its modest benefits because it promotes autonomy with its reduced energy consumption. In practice, the GeForce GTX 1060 is activated by Optimus to perform graphic processing deemed too heavy for the Intel UHD 630. Of course with one or other of these graphics solutions, it is possible to view photos and videos .
The screen adopts characteristics that lend themselves well to this use with its 16 / 9th format and its Full HD definition adapted to High Definition content. Antireflective, the screen is more restful for the eyes for a long time than a glossy panel and offers better visibility in bright environment. With its refresh rate of 120Hz (against 60Hz as standard), the screen improves fluidity in games.
Built around an Intel HM370 chipset, a good amount of 16GB RAM and a latest-generation Coffee Lake Hexa Core i7-8750H processor, this notebook delivers overall power to meet the most demanding users .
This gives a much faster operation everyday than with 4 GB DDR3 / 4 and a Dual Core processor. The difference is particularly important in the workloads of RAM and CPU resources exploiting multicore architecture (including compared to a Kaby Lake Quad Core i7-7700HQ) such as 3D rendering, photo editing or video editing.
On the storage side, MSI opts logically for this type of machine for a hybrid solution combining a very fast 256 GB dedicated SSD to a fast hard drive (speed of 7200 rpm against 5400 rpm usually) of 1000 GB. first is intended to house the main games / software in addition to the system, the rest taking place on the second.
The integrated connectivity is good by the way, including Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi ac modules to communicate and connect wirelessly remotely, audio and Ethernet ports, video outputs mini-DisplayPort and HDMI convenient to easily connect this PC to a TV for example, 1 USB 3.1 Type-C not to mention 3 USB 3.1 all compatible both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0, USB 3.0 guaranteeing transfers up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if USB 3.0 / .1 devices are connected.
Finally, Killer Gaming LAN technology is also present to give network priority to online games. Designed with the help of SteelSeries, the chiclet keyboard benefits from a RGB key backlight system to distinguish them in a dim atmosphere.
