Chassis, connectivity, screen of MSI PS63 8RDS-202 Modern
With its aluminum anthracite frame with blue edging, it has an elegant look. However, it is robust with its Drop-Down hinges and compliance with the MIL-STD-810G military resistance standard. It can be recharged at 80% in 35 minutes.
The Cooler Boost 3 technology combining 2 fans with 3 heat pipes is responsible for its cooling while the technology Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 allows to charge a Smartphone without having to turn it on.
This Ultrabook has a good connection made up of 1 USB 3.1 Type-C, Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi ac modules to communicate and connect wirelessly remotely, a convenient HDMI video output to connect easily to a TV for example, an audio port and 2 USB 3.0 / .1 (USB 2.0 compatible) guaranteeing transfers made up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if USB 3.0 devices are connected to it .
The chiclet keyboard can obviously be backlit, which is convenient to distinguish its keys in a dim light. Some will regret the absence of keypad while it is a standard in 15 inches.
To identify yourself on the system, you can use the integrated Windows Bonjour compatible biometric reader.
The screen lends itself well to the display of High Definition content including videos with its full HD definition and its 16 / 9th format. With its 100% sRGB and IPS characteristics, the screen offers more accurate colorimetry than average with large viewing angles, both horizontal and vertical. As it is anti-reflective coating, the screen also provides better visibility in bright environment (eg outside) a glossy slab.
Performance, battery life of MSI PS63 8RDS-202 Modern
The MSI PS63 8RDS-202 Modern can appeal to those who want to buy a portable PC High Definition compact and nomadic but also games oriented.
Thanks to its finesse and more generally its compactness and weight controlled at 1.6 Kg, this versatile Ultrabook is easy to carry. In terms of autonomy, it will seduce the most nomadic since according to our test dedicated to the MSI PS63 , this computer can hold about 11 hours on battery in light use!
To do this, this stylish Ultrabook relies on energy-efficient components, starting with its Whiskey Lake low-power Quad Core i7-8565U processor. Coupled with 8 GB of RAM, it delivers good overall performance able to satisfy many users.
However those who intend to regularly perform heavy work in processor resources may prefer to turn to a PC with a non-low-power processor.
In addition, this Ultrabook has a SSD storage more energy efficient than a hard drive while being more robust, much faster and quiet.
Result thanks to the SSD, this thin and light computer is shown to be significantly more fluid and responsive than if it had been equipped with a hard disk. Thus, startups / stops and launches of software / games are much faster, and can be reached faster on the cards of online games.
Note also that we are dealing with a 512 GB SSD with this Ultrabook, capacity that competes with hard drives which is still too infrequent. And if it turns out to be all right, you can always use an external storage device like a USB 3.0 device to get fast transfers.
Players will be delighted to be able to indulge in many titles with this Ultrabook because it is equipped with dedicated map GeForce GTX 1050 Ti version 4 GB dedicated edition Max-Q . Under the most demanding games, concessions are expected to get good playability.
Obviously with such a consistent autonomy announced, NVIDIA Optimus technology is in the game. It favors as much as it can operate on the Intel UHD 620 integrated in the Quad Core i7. Modest, it is energy efficient which promotes autonomy.
The GeForce GTX 1050 Ti is in practice activated by Optimus to perform graphic processing deemed too heavy for the Intel UHD 620. Of course with one or the other of these solutions, we can look at photos and videos.
Finally, keep in mind that when it is pushed hard (ex: games), this computer heats up. It is also heard in these conditions, but it remains content for this type of machine (gamer, thin, light).
