HP updates its creator-oriented gaming laptops HP Omen 16 and HP Victus 15 by switching them to Intel Alder Lake-H or AMD Rembrandt processors, NVIDIA Ampere graphics card up to the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti or AMD RDNA 2 to the Radeon RX 6650M, Full HD panel at 2.5K 165Hz, PCIe 4.0 SSD storage or Thunderbolt 4 and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity.
The HP Omen 16 edition 2022 is a new gaming laptop that measures 369 x 248 x 22.5-23mm and weighs 2.4 to 2.42 Kg.
It integrates 16/32 GB DDR5 4800MHz of RAM (2 slots) as well as 2 M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD storage slots.
Equipped with a chiclet keyboard backlit by key (1 zone or 4 zones), 2 Bang & Olufsen speakers or a 720p HD webcam with microphone, it runs on Windows 11.
On the display side, it is expected with a 16.1-inch 16/9th anti-glare screen either IPS Full HD (1920×1080) 45% NTSC 250cd/m², or IPS Full HD 144Hz 7ms 100% sRGB 250/300cd/m² low blue light emission or IPS 2.5K (2560×1440) 300cd/m² sRGB 3ms.
The new HP Omen 16 also features Wi-Fi 6E ax (2×2), Bluetooth 5, HDMI 2.1, headphone/mic combo audio, Gigabit Ethernet, 3 USB 3.2 (Gen1, 1 Sleep’n’Charge) and 2 USB-C, as well as an SD card reader.
Equipped with a 4-cell 70Whr Li-Polymer battery, it is announced in Intel and AMD edition, with Omen Tempest Cooling & Dynamic Power.
The HP Omen 16 Intel planned in anodized aluminum design either black Shadow Black or white Ceramic White, it is built around an Intel Alder Lake processor and more particularly Alder Lake-H up to the Core i9-12900H (14 cores, 6P 2.5GHz, 8E 1.8 GHz) with integrated graphics solution Iris Xe.
But also dedicated graphics card option NVIDIA Ampere ray tracing GeForce RTX 3050 4 GB GDDR6 dedicated, or GeForce RTX 3050 Ti 4 GB GDDR6 or GeForce RTX 3060 6 GB GDDR6 or GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 8 GB GDDR6.
The HP Omen 16 AMD is based on an AMD APU (Accelerated Processing Unit) Rembrandt processor up to the Octo Core Ryzen 9 6900HX (3.3 GHz) with integrated graphics Radeon 680M.
It is expected only in dark version and without Thunderbolt (but with USB-C) with a dedicated graphics card either NVIDIA with option similar to those of the Intel edition, or AMD RDNA 2 up to the Radeon RX 6650M 8 GB GDDR6.
The new HP Omen 16 laptop version 2022 is scheduled for this summer starting at $1199.
More affordable, the HP Victus 15 edition 2022 of 15.6 inches will also be marketed in the summer but at a base price of $ 799, and this in Mica Silver, Ceramic White and Performance Blue, in Intel and AMD versions.
The HP Victus 15 edition 2022 Intel version stands out for the fact that it integrates an Intel Alder Lake-H processor up to the Core i7-12700H (14 cores, 6P 2.3GHz, 8E 1.7 GHz) with Iris Xe.
Offering a battery life of 6h45 in mixed use with a 4-cell 70Whr Li-Polymer battery, it embeds up to 16 GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM, an M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD slot and an NVIDIA Ampere graphics card up to the GeForce RTX 3050 Ti 4 GB GDDR6. Optionally a 3-cell 52.5Whr Li-Polymer battery is also mentioned.
It also offers Wi-Fi 6 ax (2×2), Bluetooth 5, HDMI 2.1, audio combo Headphone / Microphone, Gigabit Ethernet, 2 USB 3.2 (Gen1, 1 Sleep’n’Charge) and 1 USB-C as well as an SD card reader.
The HP Victus 15 edition 2022 AMD version is distinguished by its older generation AMD Cezanne processor up to the Octo Core Ryzen 7 5800H (3.2 GHz) with Radeon Vega 8.
It is planned with an NVIDIA graphics card up to the GeForce RTX 3050 Ti or AMD up to the Radeon RX 6500M 4GB GDDR6.
