Razer Blade 15: Reissue with WQHD, OLED and 240 Hz

The gaming model with GeForce RTX 3070 Ti laptop GPU is expected to launch later this year for $3,499

The Californian company Razer, which also owns the audio specialist THX, has presented a 2022 new edition of its Razer Blade 15 gaming laptop. The novelty has a 15.6 – inch OLED panel with WQHD resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels) and a maximum refresh rate of 240 Hz – a world premiere.

A lot of information is not yet known, but the display should have a peak brightness of 400 cd/m² and cover 100 percent of the DCI-P3 color space. The gray change should take place within 0.1 ms, which is typical for OLEDs. A Core i9-12900H (14 cores, 20 threads) does its job inside the device and can access 32 GB of RAM. A 1 TB NVMe SSD serves as storage.

With a refresh rate of 240 Hz, games should ideally have constant similar frame rates, which could be problematic even with Full HD depending on the title – especially with WQHD. With the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti laptop GPU, a fairly high-performance graphics solution is on board, but in some games with complex graphics it may still be necessary to turn down (huge) details in order to achieve the corresponding fps ranges. The GPU is roughly at the performance level of a GeForce RTX 3060 Ti for desktop PCs.

The Razer Blade 15 with WQHD, OLED and 240 Hz should be available at least in the USA from Q4 2022 and will cost $3,499.
