Here is a PC in color that is out of the ordinary. Dressed in purple plum, the HP Pavilion 14-ce3005nf is a 14-inch ultrabook designed for work and entertainment. It is armed with excellent system responsiveness coupled with a large storage capacity thanks to its 1 TB SSD and is based on a fully capable base of 10th generation Quad Core i5-1035G1 supported by 8 GB of RAM. The IPS Full HD mat screen ensures comfort for moviegoers, the keyboard is comfortable and backlit, the neat look and the connectors are quite varied but the autonomy is not extraordinary and we have already seen 14 inches lighter.

Chassis, connectors, screen of the HP Pavilion 14-ce3005nf
The HP Pavilion 14-ce3005nf is an original color, a purple purple also called plum by HP which is not flashy enough to attract attention but fancy enough to stand out. Elegance remains essential with an aesthetic that plays on smooth and mat surfaces surmounted on the back by a chrome logo. The back of the cover is covered with metal for more robustness and the rest of polycarbonate / plastic. The silhouette is angular with protruding edges and the central hinge has been slightly redesigned compared to the previous generation. This will raise the keyboard at the opening of the cover for typing comfort and good air circulation below, a good point.
The purple keys of the keyboard are backlit with white to highlight the typing. It is very useful for working in all environments, even the darkest.
It is observed that the borders on either side of the screen are refined, which implies an optimized size. The thickness has also gained a few millimeters ( 17.9 mm ) and the weight is balanced around 1.6 kg for this model without hard drive. These measurements remain in the average of the 14 inch ultrabook category.
At the opening of the ultrabook, we discover a 14 inch screen placed on a micro-edge IPS panel with side edges of a few millimeters. It sports an extended Full HD definition (1920 x 1080 px) which offers all the latitude to enjoy your High Definition content and to modulate the display of windows on the screen. Comfort is at the rendezvous thanks to wide viewing angles (IPS), a respected color spectrum and an anti-reflective surface which fights against reflections in a bright environment.
A sufficiently varied connection is distributed on the sides. There are three USB ports including two USB 3.1 and a USB Type-C (Gen1), an HDMI output, an SD card reader and a Gigabit Ethernet port, now rare on 14 inches. The recent Bluetooth 5.0 and Wifi AC modules are also on the menu for fast wireless data exchanges.
Performance, autonomy of the HP Pavilion 14-ce3005nf
Storage is at the forefront since it is based on a fast dedicated 1 TB SSD (NVMe PCIe) . The system benefits directly compared to a configuration with mechanical hard drive because of the speed of loading offered by the SSD. This type of storage provides almost instantaneous on and off phases, transfers calculated in seconds or instant software launches where the mechanical support involved significant latencies. Note also that the SSD is inherently quieter, more robust and efficient than a hard drive. And if it is often tackled for its storage capacity that is too low, it is not the case here since it provides 1 TB, enough to allow the installation of heavy programs and the storage of your entire toy library.
The 10th generation Ice Lake processor will propel the ultrabook to multimedia spheres. It is a low consumption Quad Core i5-1035G1 which gains a few points in performance over its predecessors (i5-8565U Whiskey Lake / i5-10210U Comet Lake) thanks to a finer engraving (10 nm). For the most part, it fully supports current use (web browsing, Office processing, video) and masters some more demanding applications taking advantage of the multicore architecture (video editing, Photoshop …). Opposite, the 8 GB RAM provides a fluid environment for multitasking.
The integrated Intel UHD G1 graphics part is comparable to an Intel UHD 620 integrated in processors of previous generations. It takes care of graphic tasks related to current use and can even support some occasional games as long as they are not too greedy.
Finally, let\’s finish with a point that will interest nomads, autonomy. Its battery is not huge (41 Whr) but the ultrabook should get away with 6 to 7 hours on average in current use .
