Rechargeable to 50% in 45 minutes, this computer has an elegant and discreet design with its natural silver frame with a vertical brushed paint base finish.
In terms of connectivity, this laptop is properly equipped except that it skips the USB 3.1 Type-C. There is a useful HDMI video output to easily connect it to a TV or monitor for example, Wi-Fi ac and Bluetooth 4.2 wireless modules for remote connections and communications, audio and Ethernet ports or even 3 USB all compatible with both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0, USB 3.0 guaranteeing transfers carried out up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if USB 3.0 peripherals are plugged in.
Unlike some models in the HP 17-by3 range, this PC does not have an optical drive on the right.
Its screen also adopts classic specifications with its definition of 1600×900 and its 16: 9 format suitable for playing videos. However, it stands out for its anti-reflective treatment, making it less tiring for the eyes in the long run than a shiny panel and more readable in a bright environment (eg outdoors).
Performance, battery life of the HP 17-by3070nf
The HP 17-by3070nf is a large-format laptop designed for everyday use with plenty of storage.
Hybrid, here the storage combines a 128 GB SSD designed to house the system as well as the main software, with a hard drive with a substantial capacity of 1000 GB capable of accommodating multiple files and software as a bonus.
The result is a total of 1.1 TB, a capacity higher than the average.
The SSD has the advantage of guaranteeing a much smoother and more responsive operation than a simple hard drive. Thanks to the SSD, this PC starts / stops much faster and launches applications much faster.
On a daily basis, the SSD supports the heart of this elegant computer, made up of a low-power Quad Core i5-1035G1 Ice Lake processor and a good amount of 8 GB RAM which is very appreciable for multitasking.
This duo is able to satisfy many users in terms of general performance. However, it will not be of interest to gamers and more generally those who wish to perform heavy graphics work since it does not have a dedicated graphics card.
Here the graphics are therefore fully managed by the Intel UHD 620 solution integrated into the processor. Modest, it allows all the same of course to look at photos and videos.
As for autonomy, expect about 5 hours of battery operation in light use for this PC with the weight contained for a 17 inches, large size comfortable for mainly sedentary use (eg at home).
