Chassis, connectors, screen of the Acer Aspire 5 A515-56-513V
It sports a discreet design with its thin and light black frame that rises slightly forward when opened.
The connectivity integrated into this versatile Ultrabook is good, made up of 1 USB-C, Wi-Fi ax wireless modules ( more recent and efficient than Wi-Fi ac ) and Bluetooth 5.1 for remote connections and communications, a practical HDMI video output to easily connect this PC to a TV or monitor for example, Ethernet and audio ports as well as 3 USBs all compatible with both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0, the USB 3.0 guaranteeing transfers performing up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if USB 3.0 devices are plugged into it.
In principle, however, the keyboard does not have a backlighting system for the keys, which is a shame.
In any case, the screen lends itself well to the display of High Definition content such as videos thanks to its precise Full HD definition and its 16: 9 format. As it is anti-reflective, the screen is also more readable than a shiny panel in a bright environment (eg outdoors). However, it does not adopt IPS technology which would have made it possible to obtain significant vertical and horizontal viewing angles.
But the blue light that the screen emits is attenuated by up to 30% by Acer Bluelight Shield technology.
Performance, battery life of the Acer Aspire 5 A515-56-513V
The Acer Aspire 5 A515-56-513V is a thin and light 15 inch High Definition laptop computer designed for everyday versatile use on the go with a large storage capacity.
Indeed in the matter, it offers no less than 1.1 TB, which is higher than the average and allows to install and store multiple software and files.
The storage consists of a 128 GB SSD designed to house the main software in addition to the system as well as a hard drive with a substantial capacity of 1000 GB able to accommodate the rest.
On a daily basis, the SSD has the advantage of ensuring a much smoother and more responsive operation than a simple hard drive. This implies in particular much faster starts / stops, processing and launches of software, or even a faster arrival on the cards of online games, despite the fact that this Ultrabook does not embed a dedicated graphics card.
But it does take advantage of the features of the Iris Xe graphics solution (which we tested) integrated into the processor, which are clearly superior to those of the classic Intel UHD 620.
Thanks to the Iris Xe, you can look at photos and videos of course, but also play titles that are not too greedy in graphic resources.
The Iris Xe is more precisely housed within the Quad Core i5-1135G7, an Intel low-consumption Tiger Lake processor here coupled with a good amount of RAM of 16 GB above the average very useful in multitasking and to see coming in this area .
The general performance delivered by this core is suitable for many users.
However, for those who often intend to perform work that requires processor and / or graphics resources, it is better to turn to a PC with a non-low-power processor and / or an appropriate dedicated graphics card. .
As for the battery life of this versatile Ultrabook whose finesse and controlled weight facilitate transport, expect around 7 hours of battery operation in light use.
