On a budget, are you looking for a fast laptop with plenty of storage capacity? The Acer Aspire 3 A315-34-P938 has a few strengths going for it. Indeed, its hybrid storage offers 128 GB of SSD capacity and 1 TB of hard drive capacity. And then there is its Pentium Quad Core N5000 processor quite capable of coping with routine work, backed up by 8 GB of RAM while the imaging is entrusted to a mat Full HD screen that will appeal to moviegoers. On the other hand, we have already seen thinner and lighter for 2021, the screen is based on a TN panel and not IPS and the case requires some precautions for movement (cover).

Chassis, connectors, screen of the Acer Aspire 3 A315-34-P938
The Acer Aspire A315-34-P938 favors the sobriety of an entirely matt black shell without any particular finish but the assembly is neat. The ensemble gains in elegance thanks to a refined silhouette (19.0 mm). Note also the presence of a numeric keypad, where more and more 15 inches prefer to remove it to compact the chassis. Unsurprisingly, the keyboard isn\’t backlit and the touchpad is clickable but the side borders around the screen are slimmed down.
We open on a 15-inch screen that deploys a Full HD definition (1920 x 1080 pixels) whose high display density offers all the latitude to view content in High Definition and to enjoy a perfectly clear image at the naked eye. On the other hand, we are not dealing with an IPS panel but with more basic TN, causing reduced approach angles and unreliable colorimetry. This is hardly surprising at this price point.
Now let\’s talk about the connection which is satisfied with the minimum. On the program, an HDMI output as well as three USB ports, one of which is still limited to the 2.0 standard. No USB Type-C port or card reader provided. Note however that the wireless modules are recent (Wifi AC and Bluetooth 4.1) and that the PC also has a Gigabit Ethernet port for the wired connection.
Performance, autonomy of the Acer Aspire 3 A315-34-P938
Let’s first take a look at a welcome element of responsiveness inside this Aspire 3 A315-34-P938: storage. It is a hybrid solution composed of a dedicated 128 GB SSD and a 1000 GB hard drive which will prove to be decisive from the point of view of the speed of the system. In principle, the SSD will be able to accommodate the operating system and programs while the hard drive takes care of the storage of your game library, thus ensuring an efficient overall execution, fast on / off phases and data copies to accelerated flow rates.
It supports a Pentium Silver Quad Core N5000 whose performance is close to that of a small Core i3. In other words, the processor largely supports office use hinged around web browsing, working on Office or playing video and won\’t be against some light photo editing work. Especially since 8 GB of RAM are there to ensure the share of multitasking.
The Acer Aspire is definitely not intended for gamers. And it\’s not the recent Intel UHD 605 graphics chipset integrated into the processor that will make the difference. Only a few less greedy titles will be able to shoot in HD (1366 x 768px) with reduced details, at a pinch.
Finally, autonomy should hardly flirt with 5 hours of Internet browsing with active WiFi, it is in the low average.
