The Acer Aspire A317-51-56LD is a new black 17 inch laptop offering a large hybrid storage capacity with fast SSD to enhance responsiveness. Powerful in current use with its Comet Lake Quad Core i5 processor and its good amount of RAM, it is able to read and burn CDs and DVDs. It’s a shame, however, that it lacks a USB 3.1 Type-C connector and ignores a keyboard backlight system.

Open 180 ° completely flat, this computer sports a sober and elegant design with its black brushed metal finish chassis.
It is equipped with BluelightShield technology to attenuate the blue light emitted by the screen. It adopts characteristics that could not be more classic with its definition of 1600×900, its brilliant treatment subject to reflections in a bright environment (ex: exterior) but which enhances the colors and its 16 / 9th format suitable for playing videos.
Connectivity side, this computer is properly equipped with the exception of the absence of USB 3.1 Type-C which will upset some but is common in its range. There is a practical HDMI video output in order to easily connect this PC to a TV or a monitor for example, Wi-Fi ac and Bluetooth 4.2 wireless modules for remote connections and communications, audio and Ethernet ports as well as 3 USB all compatible with both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0, USB 3.0 guaranteeing transfers up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if you connect a USB 3.0 device.
Too bad the chiclet keyboard can not be backlit (but it is not the only dan in this case in its category) but some will appreciate being able to read and burn CDs and DVDs thanks to the on-board optical unit while it tends to disappear with the modes of dematerialization and finesse.
Performances, Battery life of Acer Aspire A317-51-56LD
The Acer Aspire A317-51-56LD is a large format laptop for everyday use.
It benefits from a hybrid storage with a large total capacity of 1.1 TB offering both great responsiveness thanks to the 128 GB SSD provided to house the main software in addition to the system, and a substantial capacity thanks to the hard drive of 1000 Go thought to accommodate the rest.
The SSD guarantees significantly more responsive and fluid operation than a simple hard drive. This results in, for example, much faster start / stop and launch of applications.
The SSD goes well with the heart of this computer which delivers good general performance capable of satisfying many users. It consists of a good amount of 8 GB RAM and a low-consumption Comet Lake Quad Core i5-10210U processor.
This laptop is however not designed for heavy graphics work like games since it does not have a dedicated graphics card. Thanks to the services – admittedly modest – of the Intel UHD 620 part integrated into the Comet Lake, you can obviously view photos and videos on this PC.
As for autonomy, bet on about 4 hours of battery operation in light use for this computer mainly intended for sedentary use (ex: home) with its weight close to 3 Kg and its large comfortable format.
