Chassis, connectors, screen of Acer Aspire A514-53-5046
With its black brushed metal finish, it sports a rather sober and elegant design.
Connectivity side, this Ultrabook is well equipped with its USB 3.1 Type-C, its wireless Wi-Fi ax modules ( newer and more efficient than Wi-Fi ac ) and Bluetooth 5.0 for remote connections and communications, its output Convenient HDMI video for easy connection to a TV or monitor, for example, its Ethernet and audio ports, not to mention its 3 USB all compatible with both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0, USB 3.0 ensuring transfers up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if USB 3.0 devices are connected to it.
Thanks to its IPS technology, the screen has significant vertical and horizontal viewing angles. It lends itself well to the display of High Definition content and in particular videos due to its precise Full HD definition and its 16: 9 format. As it is anti-reflective, the screen also offers better visibility than a glossy panel in a bright environment (eg outside).
Acer Bluelight Shield technology is also there to reduce the blue light emitted by the screen.
Performance, autonomy of the Acer Aspire A514-53-5046
The Acer Aspire A514-53-5046 is a compact High Definition laptop designed for everyday mobile use.
It delivers good general performance able to satisfy many users because it relies on a good amount of 8 GB RAM coupled to a Quad Core i5-1035G1 processor with low consumption Ice Lake.
The Intel UHD 620 solution integrated into the Core i5 of course allows you to view photos and videos. Modest, it is not supported by a dedicated graphics card. Therefore, this Ultrabook is not designed for demanding graphics work like games.
As it benefits from an SSD storage, this thin and light computer sees its reactivity clearly reinforced compared to a hard disk. We therefore take advantage of the SSD to start / stop and launch software much faster than with a hard drive.
It must be said that compared to the latter, an SSD is much faster while being more energy efficient, more impact resistant and quieter.
Here, we find integrated a 256 GB SSD, sufficient capacity for a number of uses but below the standard of hard drives. If it turns out to be too fair, we can always rely on an external storage unit. Opting for a USB 3.0 device then represents an interesting solution to take advantage of fast transfers.
As for the autonomy of this computer whose transport is facilitated by the compactness, the smoothness and the lightness, bet on approximately 9 hours of operation on battery in light use, which seduce the most nomadic.
