New multimedia Ultrabook targeting creators, the Asus Zenbook Pro 14 Duo OLED UX8402 with 2.8K OLED 16/10th 120Hz DCI-P3 Pantone screen and secondary screen ScreenPad Plus touch runs on Windows 11 with an Intel Alder Lake-H processor up to the Core i9, an NVIDIA Ampere graphics card up to the GeForce RTX 3060 or Thunderbolt 4 and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity.
The Asus Zenbook Pro 14 Duo OLED UX8402 is a new Ultrabook that runs on Windows 11 (Pro) with a 76Whr Li-Polymer battery.
It stands out for the fact that it offers a secondary screen ScreenPad Plus multi-touch touch screen 12.7 inches (2880×864) 120Hz 500cd/m² Pantone 100% DCI-P3 supporting the Asus Pen 2.0 stylus (4096 pressure points).
The ScreenPad Plus is intended to support the main screen to make life easier for creators and allow them to display their creation tools for example, which is practical under the software of the Adobe suite in particular.
It works with ScreeXpert 3 software facilitating multi-touch with applications like App Switcher and App Navigator, and 4 types of control: Dial, Button, Slider and Scroll.
This laptop adopts the innovative Active Aerodynamic System Ultra – AAS Ultra technology, a mechanism that elevates the ScreenPad Plus secondary touch screen by 20mm and 12° for ease of use and improve cooling.
On the left, the backlit chiclet keyboard welcomes the touchpad, for lack of space below the keyboard since the chassis stops here. No wrist rests are built in due to the presence of the ScreenPad Plus above the keyboard.
The main screen is a 14.5 inch 16/10th OLED 2.8K (2880×1800) 120Hz NanoEdge thin edges 550cd/m² 100% DCI-P3 Pantone 0.2ms DisplayHDR True Black 500.
The Asus Zenbook Pro 14 Duo OLED UX8402 is driven by an Intel Alder Lake processor and more specifically Alder Lake-H Core i5-12500H (12 cores, 4P 2.5GHz, 8E 1.8 GHz), Core i7-12700H (14 cores, 6P 2.3GHz, 8E 1.7 GHz) or Core i9-12900H (14 cores, 6P 2.5GHz, 8E 1.8 GHz) with integrated Iris Xe graphics.
Optionally a dedicated graphics card NVIDIA Ampere ray tracing is planned, either GeForce RTX 3050 Ti 4 GB GDDR6 dedicated or GeForce RTX 3060 6 GB GDDR6.
It measures 323.5 x 224.7 x 17.9 mm and weighs 1.7 Kg with Iris Xe alone and comes with a 150W adapter, and 1.75 Kg with dedicated onboard GPU and 180W adapter.
The core of this laptop also includes up to 32GB LPDDR5 4800MHz of soldered low-power RAM as well as M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 x4 SSD storage with a maximum capacity of 2TB.
There is also Wi-Fi 6E ax connectivity, Bluetooth 5.2, HDMI 2.1, audio combo Headphone / Microphone, 1 USB 3.2 (Gen2) and 2 USB-C Thunderbolt 4 as well as a microSD Express 7.0 card reader.
Also in the part are 2 speakers Harman Kardon Dolby Atmos Smart Amp as well as a webcam with Infrared option allowing biometric authentication via Windows Hello technology, and this by facial recognition.
The set is cooled by IceCool Plus technology using 2 IceBlades fans with curved blades, 2 8mm heat pipes and air outlets.
According to Asus, this allows the laptop to combine processor and graphics card for a TDP up to 85W without throttling.
The Asus Zenbook Pro 14 Duo OLED UX8402 is scheduled for the 3rd quarter from 2099 euros.
