New thin and light workstation-style laptops targeting professionals, the Dell Precision 3480, Dell Precision 3580 and Dell Precision 3581 14 and 15 inches are based on an Intel Raptor Lake processor, a Pro NVIDIA Ada graphics card, SSD storage or Thunderbolt 4, Wi-Fi ax or 4G or 5G connectivity. all Windows or Linux.
The Dell Precision 3480 is a new Ultrabook that weighs 1.39 Kg and measures 321.35 x 210.4 x 19.06 mm.
It runs on Windows 11 (Pro) or the Ubuntu 22.04 LTS Linux distribution with a 3-cell 54Whr battery associated with a 130W USB-C adapter.
This laptop incorporates a 13th generation Intel Core Raptor Lake processor and more specifically Raptor Lake-P (28W) Core i5-1340P, Core i5-1350P, Core i7-1360P or Core i7-1370P.
Raptor Lake-U processor options (15W) are also planned: Core i5-1335U and Core i7-1355U.
All these Raptor Lake processors house an Intel Iris Xe graphics module.
It is supported by a dedicated graphics card Ada Pro NVIDIA RTX A500 4 GB GDDR6 dedicated.
At the heart of this computer are also 8/16/32 GB DDR5 4800MHz of RAM (2 slots) as well as M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD storage with a maximum capacity of 1 TB (2230 format).
The new compact Dell Precision 3480 offers 6-ax Wi-Fi (Qualcomm WCN6856), Bluetooth 5, HDMI 2.0, headphone/mic combo audio, Gigabit Ethernet, 2 USB 3.2 (Gen1, 1 PowerShare) and 2 USB 4 Type-C Thunderbolt 4.
It is also equipped with a 14-inch IPS Full HD (1920×1080) anti-glare screen or 45% NTSC 250cd / m², or 72% NTSC 300cd / m², or 100% sRGB 4000cd / m² low consumption with low blue light emission.
Equipped with a backlit chiclet keyboard and 2 speakers (2 x 2W) Waves MaxxAudio, it is also equipped with a Full HD webcam with microphone and infrared option for facial recognition and therefore compatible with biometric authentication via Windows Hello.
The Dell Precision 3480 will be available towards the end of April 2023, for about 1750 euros with a Core i7-1360P, 16 GB DDR5, SSD 512 GB, Full HD screen 250cd / m² under Windows 11 Pro and up to 2480 euros with a Core i7-1370P, 32 GB DDR5, an NVIDIA A500 and a Full HD 400cd / m² panel.
More comfortable in size, the Dell Precision 3580 weighs 1,613 Kg and measures 357.8 x 233.3 x 20.8/22.8 mm which allows it to accommodate a numeric keypad on the right of the keyboard.
In its Titan Gray design, it hosts a 15.6-inch display and offers a more modest 3-cell 42Whr battery option.
In addition, it offers optional 4G/LTE or 5G connectivity.
Count about 1650 euros for a Dell Precision 3580 with Core i5-1335U, 8 GB DDR5, SSD 256 GB and Full HD 250cd / m² against about 2800 euros for an edition with Core i7-1370P, 32 GB DDR5, SSD 1 TB, NVIDIA A500, Full HD 400cd / m² and 4G.
Also in 15.6-inch format, the Dell Precision 3581 is distinguished by its more powerful processor Raptor Lake-H (45W): Core i5-13500H, Core i5-13600H, Core i7-13700H, Core i7-13800H or Core i9-13900H, again with Intel Iris Xe.
It offers additional NVIDIA Ada Pro graphics card options: NVIDIA RTX A1000 6GB GDDR6 and NVIDIA RTX A2000 8GB GDDR6.
Logically the Dell Precision 3581 is planned with a more powerful battery either 4 cells 64Whr or 6 cells 97Whr.
In addition, equipped with a microSD card reader and Wi-Fi 6E ax (2×2, Intel AX211) and Bluetooth 5.3, it weighs 1,795 Kg and measures 357.8 x 233.3 x 22.7-24.7 mm.
Expected at a starting price around 1970 euros, count on about 2930 euros for a Dell Precision 3581 with Core i7-13700H, 32 GB DDR5, 1 TB SSD, 15 inches 400cd / m² with infrared webcam and 4G, 97Whr battery.
