Chassis, connectors, HP 15s-fq1040nf screen
With its light silver design, it has an elegant and discreet look. You can recharge it to about 50% in 45 minutes.
It runs on Windows 10S, a security-oriented system that only allows installation from the Windows Store. If desired, however, you can exit S mode to get Windows 10 classic.
The connectivity integrated into this Ultrabook is good, consisting of 1 USB-C, Wi-Fi ac and Bluetooth 4.2 modules for wireless remote connections and communications, Ethernet and audio ports, a practical HDMI video output to connect it to a TV or a monitor for example but also to 2 USB 3.0 (compatible both USB 2.0) guaranteeing transfers carried out up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if one connects to it USB 3.0 peripherals.
The screen lends itself well to the display of videos and more generally High Definition content because it adopts a 16: 9 format and a precise Full HD definition. As it is anti-reflective, the screen is also more readable in a bright environment (eg outdoors) than a shiny panel.
Performance, battery life of the HP 15s-fq1040nf
The HP 15s-fq1040nf is a compact 15-inch High Definition laptop designed for everyday use.
In this field, as in Internet surfing and office automation, it provides good services because it is based on a good amount of 8 GB RAM very useful in multitasking as well as a Core i3-1005G1 Turbo low consumption Ice Lake processor .
The latter, like all Intel Core i3 Turbo, is significantly more efficient than a non-Turbo Core i3 (Core i3-7xxxU and earlier).
But like the AMD Ryzen 3, all Core i3s show their limits under CPU demanding applications.
Of course, you can watch photos and videos on this Ultrabook. And this thanks to the Intel UHD 620 graphics part integrated into the Core i3-1005G1 Ice Lake. Modest, the Intel UHD 620 does not come with a dedicated graphics card and therefore this thin and light laptop PC is not designed for heavy graphics work like gaming.
But thanks to its SSD, this Ultrabook is much more responsive and fluid on a daily basis than if it had a simple hard drive.
Compared to the latter, remember that an SSD is much faster but also less energy, more robust and silent.
So on a daily basis thanks to the SSD, this elegant silver laptop PC benefits in particular from much faster starts / stops and launches of applications.
Here the SSD offers a capacity of 256 GB sufficient for a number of uses. But it is inferior to the standard of hard disks. If you need more space, however, you can use an external storage unit such as a USB-C / USB 3.0 device for fast transfers.
As for the battery life of this Ultrabook whose weight and thinness facilitate transport, expect about 6 hours of battery operation in light use.
