Chassis, connectors, screen of the HP Pavilion 15-eg0074nf
With its Natural Silver aluminum cover design and sandblasted anodized keyboard frame (dixit HP), this thin and light laptop PC has an elegant and discreet look.
This versatile Ultrabook has a good connection including 1 USB-C, wireless Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi ax modules ( more recent and efficient than Wi-Fi ac ) to communicate and connect wirelessly, an audio port, a practical HDMI video output to easily connect it to a monitor or a TV for example, but also 2 USB 3.0 (USB 2.0 compatible) guaranteeing transfers taking place up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if USB 3.0 devices are plugged into it.
As a fingerprint reader is integrated, we can authenticate by biometric recognition via Windows Hello technology.
In addition, the keys of the chiclet keyboard can be backlit, which is practical for better distinguishing them in a dimly lit environment.
Thanks to its IPS technology, the screen has large viewing angles, both horizontally and vertically. However, its colorimetry is average, lower than that of higher-end IPS panels. But with its Full HD definition and its 16: 9 format, the screen is in any case very suitable for displaying High Definition content such as videos. Its anti-reflective treatment also makes it more readable than a shiny panel in a bright environment (eg outdoors).
Performance, battery life of the HP Pavilion 15-eg0074nf
The HP Pavilion 15-eg0074nf is a thin and light 15-inch High Definition laptop designed for everyday general-purpose use on the go.
It delivers good general performance able to satisfy many users because it integrates 16 GB of RAM associated with a low power Intel Ice Lake Quad Core i5-1135G7.
This houses the Iris Xe (tested by us) , a graphics solution with significantly higher performance than the classic Intel UHD 620.
In practice, we can therefore look at photos and videos but also run games that are not too greedy in graphic resources.
However, it is better to turn to a PC with a non-low consumption processor and / or an appropriate dedicated graphics card if you are planning to often perform intensive work in processor and / or graphics resources.
On the storage side, there is a 512 GB SSD, a capacity in phase with the standard of hard drives. But compared to the latter, the SSD is as a bonus silent, more energy efficient, more shock resistant and much faster.
In practice, thanks to the SSD, we benefit from much faster starts / stops, for example, just like processing and software launches, or even faster arrival on the cards of online games.
Obviously, if you need additional space, you can use an external storage unit. Opting for a USB-C / USB 3.0 device then represents an interesting solution to obtain fast transfers.
As for battery life, expect around 7 hours of battery operation in light use for this Ultrabook whose transport is facilitated by its controlled weight and finesse.
