All dressed in blue, the Lenovo IdeaPad C340-14IML (81TK00FUFR) is a 14-inch laptop convertible into a tablet, designed for those looking for modularity without breaking the bank. He installed in his metal chassis a powerful 10th Gen Quad Core i5. backed up by what is needed in RAM (8 GB) and SSD storage (256 GB) to benefit from a lively and comfortable system, with images entrusted to the rotating Full HD screen seconded by an active stylus, to get the most out of your videos / photos. Little more, a fingerprint reader and a webcam cover for confidentiality are present and the autonomy is correct. On the other hand, the screen is based on a simple TN panel and its weight / size ratio is not necessarily optimal for tablet use.

Chassis, connectors, screen of the Lenovo IdeaPad C340-14IML (81TK00FUFR)
To design its IdeaPad C340-14IML, Lenovo is directly inspired by its Yoga 530-14 in its design. Combining plastic and aluminum, the chassis of the C340 is meant to be everywhere and discreet with its uniform “Abyss Blue” blue color. We leave classic tones like black or silver, however. No material effect adorns the design except the mark in contrast on the edges of the cover and the base. We observe that these are more pronounced for a slightly sharper silhouette.
In terms of format, with 1.6 kg and 17.9 mm thick , the ultrabook opts for the same measurements as the Yoga 530, which makes it easy to take with you on the go without too much clutter.
The keyboard is apparently not backlit on this declination, too bad.
Once the ultrabook is open, we discover the central element in this type of convertible configuration, the screen. This takes advantage of refined borders, amplifying the impression of immersion. Its Full HD definition (1920 x 1080 px) makes it possible to offer a vast space of display perfectly clear and to make the most of the content in High Definition. On the other hand, we are not dealing with an IPS panel but with a more basic TN, causing reduced approach angles and an unreliable colorimetry. This is detrimental in 2019 at this price level and a fortiori on a convertible where the touch screen is at the center of use.
Good point, apparently webcam enjoys a little privacy flap “privacy shutter” to prevent any intrusion.
The connectivity ensures a very correct level with its standard size interfaces. Here, an HDMI port and a full size SD card reader are present as well as two USB 3.1 ports and a USB Type-C port , without forgetting the Wifi AC and Bluetooth 4.2 modules. A biometric reader is also on the menu to secure access to your data and log in to your session with the touch of a finger.
Performance, autonomy of the Lenovo IdeaPad C340-14IML (81TK00FUFR)
Inside the ultrabook, we find a heart powered by a 10th generation (2019) Comet Lake processor , the Core i5-10210U . Thus, the C340 covers all of current use (Web browsing, Office processing, video) with a fairly advanced mastery in more demanding applications using multicore architecture (video editing, light Photoshop …). Attention, we are on low consumption and not powerful processors type -H. In fact, if you try CPU-intensive tasks, you will face more or less harmful latencies. With 8 GB of RAM behind, the system will not lose fluidity in multitasking for everyday use.
There is no dedicated graphics card for this model, which limits it automatically on the game and graphics jobs a little greedy. Despite everything, the support of the Intel UHD 620 chip integrated in the processor is sufficient for current use and to launch some undemanding titles since it is put at the same level as a dedicated GeForce MX110.
For its part, the storage is entrusted to an M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD of 256 GB , allowing to bring its share of fluidity to Windows 10 and to the overall execution of the programs, knowing that this is paid for in terms of capacity. . If you count the space occupied by the system and by the programs, there is only about 200 GB of free space, enough to accommodate a small part of your toy library. For the rest, you will have to opt for an external or online solution.
Let’s finish with an idea of the autonomy of this convertible which should last the distance with around 6 to 7 hours in Internet browsing with active Wifi. It’s about average.

I would have loved to see the Internal camera specs. This is important especially during these times of the pandemic where there are frequent virtual meetings. Please do provide those details next time.
