Power Meets Portability: Unveiling the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 s Gen 6 and T16 Gen 4 Laptop

At MWC 2025 Lenovo announced new thin and light laptops powered by the latest generation AMD Kracken Point Ryzen AI 300 processor, the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 6, Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 and Lenovo ThinkPad T16 Gen 4. These 14 and 16-inch laptops feature up to 2.8K DCI-P3 OLED displays, up to 2TB of NVMe SSD storage, a 2-factor biometric authentication solution, and connectivity with 4G/5G, Wi-Fi 7, USB 4 Type-C and NFC.

Expected in silver or black colors in an aluminum or magnesium design , the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 6 is driven by a recent AMD Kracken Point processor of the Ryzen AI Pro 300 type , like the Ryzen AI 7 PRO 350 with integrated Radeon 860M graphics solution and Ryzen AI 5 PRO 340 with Radeon 840M .

The Kracken Point is paired with a maximum storage capacity of 2TB M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD and a maximum RAM of 64GB DDR5 via 2 slots.

This laptop has a 14-inch 16/10 screen that comes in several options: IPS Full HD (1920×1200) 45% NTSC 400cd/m² with multi- touch option, IPS Full HD 100% sRGB 500cd/m² with low power option and OLED 2.8K (2880×1800) 120Hz 500cd/m² 100% DCI-P3 Dolby Vision.

Above the panel, a 5.0 megapixel infrared webcam is integrated. It allows facial recognition .

And since a fingerprint reader is also part of the package, we find ourselves here with a 2-factor biometric authentication system that can be used to log into the PC via Windows Hello.

This laptop also features a backlit chiclet keyboard and a dual pointing system: the traditional touchpad and the rarer and more precise TrackPoint , which takes the form of a red mini-joystick in the center.

The Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 6 is expected to be released in May 2025 , starting at €1,549, a base price that will drop to €1,499 in June with the launch of other variants.

Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 6

The Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 is expected earlier, for April 2025 starting at 1999 euros, a base price that will be more affordable in June since it will be set at 1599 euros.

This model is a little easier to transport with its weight of 1.23 kg and its dimensions of 313.6 x 219.4 x 16.9 mm.

Available only in black, it adopts a chassis with recycled carbon fiber option .

The Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 will be offered with a single 58Whr Li-Polymer battery option and a maximum storage capacity of 1TB .

Lenovo ThinkPad T16 Gen 4

With its larger, comfortable 16-inch format, the Lenovo ThinkPad T16 Gen 4 can accommodate a numeric keypad on the right of the chiclet keyboard .

Compared to the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 6, it is logically larger and thicker with its dimensions of 359.7 x 250.8 x 18.4 mm for a weight of 1.76 Kg .

We find a 16-inch 16/10th IPS Full HD panel , i.e. 45% NTSC 400cd/m² with touch option , or 100% sRGB 500cd/m² with low power option.

Equipped with a 52.5Whr or 86Whr Li-Polymer battery , the Lenovo ThinkPad T16 Gen 4 will be marketed from 1549 euros from June 2025 .
